This has been completely my own fault and avoidsble
the moment the optician saw me she said " allergy". I have had a massive reaction to the sap of euphorbia! I have a long swathe of it and whilst "pottering" (so not gloved up) I pulled some that was at risk of invading the blue mecanopsis. Totally forgot and must have rubbed my eye!
i look like a monster and have put a lot of people to a lot of trouble. I do have to praise our village hospital, the local optician and the village pharmacy who all have sorted me out and it's less than 24 hours since I did it!
Its jolly sore tho so let me be an example of stupidity to all. Wear Gloves in the garden.

Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
Early warmth and then cold then warm then wet Liri? It's making me bendy too
I planted some nice new ones last autumn too - the white ones are the same and are winding their way in and around a Hebe. I rather like it!
Oh LP - I hope it settles down quickly. So easily done. I was watching G'sW earlier and Carol was doing an item on them as well. Have they given you anything?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Euphorbia sap makes you photo-sensitive if you get it on your skin; years ago I wore gloves when cutting some, but had my sleeves rolled up. I didn't realise I'd got some sap on my upper arm until I noticed a brown, sore patch when I showered. It took months to fade.
Fairy, I think my allium trouble might be onion maggots. They don't look at all well... must dig them up and have a look. Yours, in comparison, look artistically bendy...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Fairy, thanks for the tip re the big orange place and metal strips. I'll tell OH - he quite enjoys a wander round.
Why have my alliums gone bendy? Not all of them - just the ones I planted last autumn. They can't hold up their heads.

LP, I warned chap, who helps out, not to cut euphorbias unless he had gloves on.
Hope your eye clears up soon.

LP, at least your looks were okay last Sunday for your visitors.
Small consolation.
Poor you, LilyP. Hope it's soon more comfortable.

The Met Office says there's a 90% chance of rain between now and 5pm.
I think I might be sewing this afternoon...
