Here you go Clari - very simple and very tasty.  Old recipe so pounds and ounces.  Let it mature a month or so before eating.

    Rhubarb Chutney

2 lbs         rhubarb in 1" chunks
    8 oz          onion, chopped
    1.5 lbs      brown sugar
    8 oz          raisins
    1/2 oz       mustard seeds
    1 tsp         pepper
    1 tsp         mixed spice
    1 tsp         ginger
    1 tsp         salt
    20 fl oz     cider vinegar

Combine the lot in a large pan and cook till thick, with no excess liquid.  Transfer to warm jars and cover.

Morning all, Have loads to do today but can't seem to get motivated.

Should take some parcels to be returned.

    Should vacuum the stairs.

The kitchen floor needs a scrub.

Have the paint to tart up the bench in the garden.

Just can't seem to do any of them.  The weather isn't  too bad and I have plenty to do in the garden, in fact the lawns could do with a trim.  Think if I just start one thing then others might follow.

Or I could have another cuppa and think about it.image

I may well snaffle that recipe too Obelixx - we've got an amazing crop of rhubarb this year.

Right, I'm back from W'rose with supplies for the week ... now for a image

then I'll make a batch of minestrone with the rest of the chicken and ham stock I made last week (I've got a courgette, some carrots, peppers, leeks, celery, tomatoes and some pesto all lurking to be used up and some tiny pasta shells somewhere).

Then I'll make a sausage and bean casserole in the slow cooker for supper and then the polenta cake may be made today ... or perhaps tomorrow ....

I'm glad you ladies wrote " Betty's" they don't seem to care for the apostrophe.

I've just finished clearing the last bit, of the last bed.

Cuppa, bit of cake then compost,  dig, plant and mulch.

so so is the answer LP thanks. I'm sure if I added all the bits of sleep together it'd make a decent total, but very fragmented.

You all sound so busy! I'm sat here in the coffee shop, still on my tod, writing drafts of articles for a children's newsletter for a club I agreed to help out however I could, and generally being too lazy to even make myself another mug of tea.

Good job I'm hosting a first aid session with scouts tonight to make up for it!

Ob: thanks ever so for the recipe, I'll give it a go this week once I've dug all my jam jars out.

Help yourself Dove.  It's a recipe form someone on A4A from years ago.   Good with curry if you run out of mango chutney and great with sausages and cheese.

Hmmmm - cake's not being made this afternoon ... I've spent quite some time on the phone to nice people at Virgin media 'cos you lot keep disappearing  image   (technically speaking we have an intermittent broadband fault).

I have been assured we will get compensation and that the network team will have it fixed by 11pm tonight and that the nice man will phone tomorrow morning to make sure it's all working ok.

Frustrating Dove.  Same here but for different reasons.

Several moons ago I planned out our potager on paper to calculate the number of roof beams or railway sleepers needed to make raised beds then costed it.  Ouch!  Suggested to OH we just make a bed at a time as we needed them and not all in one capital funding go.  Nah, we'll be OK.

No decisions since cos of winter and other projects.

This pm he got all excited about some websites he'd found with bulk delivery prices so I've redrawn the whole thing on their different dimensions - taken ages - and costed it.  "Ouch", he said.  "We'll build them as and when."    Fit to spit!

Could have been marking out the rose beds which will, by hook or by crook, have decent sleeper edging between them and the seating area.
