Hi everyone. Just to add one of my pet grumbles - how often do we see people on TV who are reported to be very poor and unable to pay the rent and buy food, etc, when they conveniently have a cigarette hanging out of their fingers. Does anyone know the price of fags nowadays?
Never mind. Grumble over.
We had rain overnight (the best kind), and the gauge showed 21 mm this morning. Very pleased with that. Sunny and mild outside now.
im still feeling very tired and lazy but don't know why. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the flu injection. Maybe im just plain lazy.
Hi Pat - been awake since 5 so I thought I'd just get up and have a cuppa
I'm assuming they're just little garden spiders of some kind. Lovely aren't they?
I think those flu jabs can knock you sideways.I've heard several people say the same. Take it easy.
We've had a lot of rain too and it's to be wet all day. It started yesterday afternoon and didn't stop till about 10 pm. Came back on through the night and hasn't stopped. I've slightly missed it - it's been strange not having our usual rainfall!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Same here, Fairy. The seasons are all out of kilter.
i actually pushed myself and I've had an absolutely lovely afternoon in the garden. I'm progressively working my way through the pots of strawberries that have been in the GH all summer. They have been cleaned up and given more potting mix to give them a boost. Still more to do, but some of them are still fruiting, so I'm not giving the parrots first dibs. They can make do with the bird seed out in the feeder and leave the sweet stuff for us.
dull and wet here great for garden but not for me ??been up since since 6 am on my day off suppose my fault for going bed early so have lazy quiet morning
My strawberries are all in flower here. I don't really like them that much! Not sure why I grow them really
No plans as such today although there's plenty needs doing. No chance of a hill which is annoying as there's been some good weather during the week. Such is life
Have you had any more thoughts on your trees amberspy? I wonder if you'd be better waiting till autumn and getting some bare root specimens. Much cheaper if you need a lot.

I bought a new set of plastic drawers from Aldi recently, and even though it's supposed to be for makeup etc. I could see a good use for it in my little corner of the lounge room.
i would like to issue a reminder to be very careful whilst gardening
i got something in my eye yesterday, had to go to our wonderful village hospital, sadly it's much worse this morning and have to up the opticians tho my eye is now closed!
be careful!

Oh LilyP ((hugs)) take care ... hope it's better very soon!
I've just popped the tomatoes and courgettes out onto the terrace to get some sunshine ... they don't really get enough light when they're crammed into the little greenhouse like they were all yesterday ... but I may have to rush out and pop them back in again if we get a heavy shower .......some are forecast later on.

I meant to say, I liked the photo of the little spiders. What kind are they? I've not seen them before.
