Mine has rocketed too Hosta.uck with the same compnay because there was no exit fee and it was the best of a bad bunch. Lo and behold when the gubbins came through - suddenly there was one...image

I stilI think that sounds ludicrously high though. Energy companies ...image

Unless there's an issue with your meter? They've been discussing it on the news this morning about how they're going to cap it etc. I'll believe it when I see it. Manifestos.....image

    Morning all,

Fairy have you had a new meter out in? We discovered they hadn't disconnect the old one and were charging us for two readings. It took years to discover. Don't pay it!

my OH was incandescent with rage every time a bill came in. We hovered over the chap taking the readings, checked them with him and still it went on.  Hold your ground. They have some kind of "energy" specialist who can come round

    good luck

Hosta ... Our dual fuel bill is £94 per month - 3 bed detached house, gas CH, no tumble drier.

Your bill sound high to me - how is the flat heated?

We had the same conversation this time last year when they said our usage had gone up by a hideous amount and they installed a new meter, now it's up again.

I switch the micorwave off at the wall after using it so I don't even power the flippin clock on the thing when not in use.

I seem to remember "back in the day" we were all told that privitisation would guarantee us cheaper bills.......

Good morning everyone, where did April go? ?

Cold and windy again here but had a good few sunny days here and there.  The garden is bone dry ☹️

Liri I know it was a while back now but did see the pics of the park you volunteer with and it looks amazing ? You have inspired me! I went to an open day last weekend and have signed myself up to help in a site that amongst other things holds "memory lanes" on a Friday where you can support those with dementia to garden or engage in craft projects.

is anyone going to the Malvern show?

gonnna put the kettle on, see you in a bit ?

Dove the flat has electric heaters, but this bill is over the winter months and our last tenants hated it hot. They hardly ever used it and always had windows open. The new couple might well be different, but we can't blame them.

I've just checked : last year they said we were 11% up on the previous winter 6 month period.

We're out of the country for 4 weeks over this period.

You're sure about the last tenants hardly using it? I've known people keep heating on 24/7 and open the windows to cool down ... Ex DIL for instance. Apparently in her flat in Russia the heating was free image
