My potting shed is a falling down shed thing that was probably once used as a Donkey shelter .......but plenty of room to host virtual meetings .........I'll go give it a sweep and a tidy upimage

Re the garden bench, Pottiepam & Chicky - I don't think replacing slats is impossible, and it certainly wasn't that expensive for us - wood cost £8 or so, new bolts 20p each, plus a few screws.  I think the paint will be expensive though.  And so far the most expensive item (though we can use it again for something else) was a metal-cutting blade for the reciprocating-saw-thingy to remove the old bolts from the frame.  OH had a bit of trouble getting out a couple of screws, used in some springy metal bits which are part of the frame but screwed to one of the seat slats.  There's also a metal strip which joins the slats together in the middle, which in our case is a bit the worse for wear due to rust.  OH thinks "it'll do for now" whereas I'm not so sure... might sneak down to the local steel fabricators and find out how much a new one will cost.  Or pinch a bit from son's Meccano set...  image

This was OH's summer gardening project, but I suspect the painting may get done by me... I've already spent an hour or so sawing the old bolts out.  He didn't want to do it on the grounds that the grinding tool thingy is mine, and he might do something terrible to it.  image

I could bring the garden bench to the virtual meeting, as long as the paint has dried...  image

Liri - you can get meaal strips for joining timber at the big orange DIY store. I use them quite often - couple of quid depending on size.  image

Ouch LP. Hope that isn't too serious.Very painful. Take it easy.

No use for a sunlounger here Dove- but the rain's gone off. If I wasn't so knackered, I might consider doing something image
