Landscaper coming this morning to measure up for some replacement fencing - the cheap and cheerful, rustic hazel panels have done their job - but after 5 years they are starting to look a little tired and I'm not sure they would stand much in the way of winter gales after another season. The fact that the squirrels think they are both a short cut to the hazel trees and a climbing frame hasn't helped either
Glad your eye is better Wonky - enjoy a lazy weekend.
Hope you can get something sorted for your eye Lily. Hope the optometrist can either remove whatever is in there or reassure you that it's gone and the eye just needs to heal. Eyes are precious.
Better get dressed before P knocks on the door May thin the autumn fruiting raspberries when he's gone - they have flower buds on already - what's that all about?
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

How come Wonky has managed to sneak on to this forum. I thought you had to be 27 to be accepted!
I might bring it up at the next meeting. Is Verdum's shed still available?
Good morning all,
I hope Lily's eye improves. I scratched mine on the corner of a compost bag once, really painful.
I would be interested to know what you did with your garden bench Liriodendron. I have two sets of wrought iron bench ends and looking online for replacement wood seems more expensive than buying a new bench.
I'm interested re the garden bench too. We have one like that whose slats have rotted away - I was planning to get OH to replace them as his next "project" .......am I setting him an impossible task?
Busy week at work - been looking forward to the weekend Need to run some errands this morning (including a GC visit), then planting out the contents of the coldframe ready for the next stage of the GH shuffle.
