Very sad for Manchester, all those people at the concert and their friends and relatives. It's horrific.
I hope that all those at or going to Chelsea have a wonderful time, and Happy Birthday Clari! And punkdoc for tomorrow :-).
My pay situation has taken a hilarious turn for the better (I bet they wish they'd just paid it in the first place), but it's not actually in my account yet so I'll hold off saying anything.
Good weather for gardening - warm, not hot, but cloudy. Yesterday was blistering in the sun.
See you later - off to try to get the old water tank level before I fill it with soil and can never ever move it again!

... Not the world's greatest actor, but a man of integrity ....... he'll be missed.
I remember queueing behind an unknown man in our village fish and chip shop, and then hearing him place his order and realising it was The Saint! When he turned around he smiled sheepishly at everyone in the queue and got into Nigel Davenport's car which was parked outside, with a big newspaper-wrapped parcel. ND lived on the edge of the village and enjoyed entertaining friends from film and tv.

GUESS WHO GOT A CHEQUE IN THE POST TODAY ?? Of course it means nothing until it is in the bank but still.
Sat in the garden in the glorious sunshine with a cracking headache; I'm sure it's caffeine withdrawal as everyone in the office drinks pop so I opt for water rather than a mug of tea. Unfortunately there is nothing stronger in the house to celebrate surviving another year!
That's a good birthday present . Is that your last contact with them now?
I too got paid today, half as much again as I was expecting! I kicked up such a fuss yesterday getting the director on side and mentioning legal proceedings that they went and investigated my record more throughly than they would normally... and it turned out they hadn't paid me for some extra hours I'd done earlier in the year - ha! I expect they wish they'd not withheld payment in the first place now, they could have got away with that. It's not much, but better than a poke in the eye, as they say.
Hope your headache improves.
