Good news that OH is home safe and sound Fidgetimage.  If really doesn't bear thinking about  the alternative.   Be happy tonight anyway and tomorrow you can go out all guns blazing!

You both need a good night's sleep Fidget.  Hope hubby feels ok in the morning.

Oh Fidget what a horrible shock that must have been, but what a relief he's arrived home. I hope his neck is OK.

I've been worrying about my OH who said he would ring me when he arrived in Eastbourne. I've just rung him, seems he forgot.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Bloody hell Fidget. I've not been here for a while but very pleased to hear that the car did what it is supposed to, it absorbed the energy of the impact by breaking.

I thought I'd had an exciting time last week when I damaged an alloy wheel after being forced to swerve my car off the road when I met a cyclist, on a blind corner, who had decided that the way forward was to ride around the cars waiting in a queue for the lights in the middle of my side of the road. I was not impressed and I have rarely sworn at someone so loudly. He just rode off...

I actually did some gardening today, removed a Hydrangea so I can replace it with a prettier one. I was joined by one of our hedgepigs in the middle of the afternoon. Normally that would worry me but she was stuffing her face and I caught her quickly and checked her over and she seemed fine. Obviously just trying to pack on calories for winter.

The car  seemed to have done what the safety pack should do. Although the brakes weren't on, it slammed on the brakes to stop the car being shunted into the one in front, so it prevented damage to the front and the car in front.  Now we will see if Volvo insurance is as good as Aviva. When I had a small bump, they sorted it , got me a courtesy car, and mine fixed and back to me in a week. My brother had a six week argument with his insurer and the garage over damage to his work van when a car pulled out of a side road in front of him. They are still arguing over loss of earnings.

I haven't seen any hedgepigs for ages. The last one was a baby trying to hide under a pallet.  One of the neighbours has a bengal cat, a very inquisitive hunter. Apparently he keeps making them presents of mice and toads, presumably mostly coming from my garden.

  • Glad everyone's safe and sound and where they're s'posed to be.

Fidget, what a worry you've had. I'm glad that Hubby is home and relaxing. I assume that most of you are now in bed, so have a good sleep everyone.

Fidget what a ghastly day for you and hubby thank goodness it wasn't worse. Hope a good nights sleep helps

steve our local council spent much of our money putting in cycle lanes. The cyclists don't seem to see them and still use the road image

Pat I hope you are feeling better

Hi Lilyp. No I'm pretty crook at the moment, but have started new medication, so I just have to keep going and see how it goes. Thanks for asking, though.image
