I meant to say earlier to Rosie - I am glad to hear you managed your walk with your Dad yesterday. I bet it was a case of dodging the showers though?

  • Good morning all. I cheerfully do c****s (except that one using a yellow cloth) because during the times I've been laid up due to broken bones, I've had to watch my vertically challenged wife do them. It made me so sad to watch her struggle, that I happily do them, so that she doesn't have to.

@star gaze lily I have so many of the "love is" cartoons. I was cutting them out of the newspaper when I started working at the age of 20. Now I can get them online too!!

    Morning all.

@rowlandscastle444 you sound like my OH, he helps in the house. He does the 2 chores in that cartoon, but he wears clothes while doing them! He always does the washing up, with the help of the dishwasher.

Have a good time with the poppets @star gaze lily. They must be growing up by now. My oldest will be 18 next month and starting Uni. Time passes so fast.

I'm glad you like your new clematis, LB.

Morning everyone. Well, the sun is shining.....gawd, why wasn't it out at the weekend grrrr......?
I have Lily's TV on( where does it all come from?) and I've polished the lounge wood floor. ( sorry COL T, couldn't help it), I'm shattered so taking a rest now😬 OH has gone of to table tennis( the real deal, not " ping pong") which he was really looking forward too. It should work out some tension.
We must sort the garden out soon, I've made a small start but everything is so overgrown with all the rain that plants are beginning to bend to find the light. LB, fess-up time for me, I like bare soil😊🫣
Busy, my OH helps out with some chores too, it's a good help. RC( @rowlandscastle444 , may I call you that please? Do you mind?) , you're a good 'un helping your wife. I'm sure she will really appreciate it.

    Morning all.
LB - that clemmie looks rather nice. I have several climbing ones that I allow to grow through other plants. It started with putting a mid blue and pink clematis at the foot of a Sambucus Black Lace. Put the Sambucus in for the leaf colour and form but find that by this time of year it starts to look a little too funereal. The clematis scramble through it looking for the sun and it really does lift the shrub.

Down the back there's a Prince Charles which is supposed to attach to the fence. When we were away in June the strong winds blew it into the apple tree where it attached itself and put on a skyward trajectory. Now at the top of the tree and it looks fab. Happy accidents!

Rosie - hope your ear(s) feel better soon. TBH I just use olive oil out of the cupboard. Bought a dropper bottle from the chemist and I just fill it up with the stuff I would otherwise use on salad😁

OH isn't the best at chores but he does most of his own ironing, washes up most days, does some cooking and empties the kitchen bins. At the moment he's painting the garage doors🙂 - but he needs to me to point out that jobs like that need doing..

@rowlandscastle444, I'm so sorry🫣 I hadn't realised what the RC would sound like so won't be using that again,😬😬 My brain is  still somewhere else.
Rosie, hope you can get some olive oil and using the drops, they do loosen things up but, like Topbird, my OH has to go and have his lugs syringed  every so many years.
LB, your new clematis is very pretty and unusual.

Not to worry about RC @Songbird-2
I've been called a lot worse. TBH, I hadn't noticed it - which shows my brain is somewhere else too!

I think you might have been the only one who'd twigged it Hazel - until you pointed it out of course. 😁🥳
