  • Morning all.  I slept well.  The town centre has had a lot of shops close down unfortunately and also cafes.  Starbucks and Costa remain.  There is an Art Gallery but the museum was relocated some years ago and nothing like it used to be.  Rosie

Good morning Rosie. Good to hear you slept well. Isn't it sad that so many of us are mourning (somewhat) the disappearance of our high streets and town centres? How all of these changes can be described as progress, I fail to grasp.

    Morning all.

Good luck with your scan @rowlandscastle444. I hope it's OK.

    Welcome @Bluejayway.

We are going to attempt to put up my new gazebo this morning. The lawn is a bit sloped so I hope we manage it. OH is optimistic. Can't say I am.

    Morning all,

Could be another day of watching sport for me  :)

Our town centre is probably bucking the trend. This, in no small part, is due to the work of the local civic pride group. It's never looked better in terms of flora and has won awards in national competitions.

There's also been a decent amount of investment in the central area over recent years - clearing the delapidated, old arcade, which had become full of rundown, vacant commercial premises. A new bus station and landscaped area have replaced the eyesore. The town could possibly be described as thriving  :o

    Good afternoon,

well, it’s dry for now but the sun has disappeared for now. It is meant to remain dry though.

All the best for the scan @rowlandscastle444. We go to find out the results of my OH scan on Thursday. I think the waiting is the worst part.

Enjoy your week of @debs64. I’m sure you’ll have a lively week.

Afternoon all. Very overcast and humid but think it will stay dry so will try to get a couple of hours outside after lunch.

Ended up doing some loft clearing yesterday. That wasn't on the cards until I went up there to find out if a phone adaptor was in the router box. Finished up with a car load of cardboard, ancient routers and pother electronics, some old pictures - hopelessly faded - and other bits and pieces.

Trip to the recycling centre to get rid of it all this morning and found some old telescopic tent poles which are the same as ones we had been thinking about buying for £25. Reuse charity shop asked for just £2. They need a new bag but I have fabric, a sewing machine and I watched the Sewing Bee so should be a doddle!

@rowlandscastle444 - hope all goes well today. Will you be given the results today or do you have to wait?

@Red maple - fingers crossed for your OH too. As you say, waiting for medical test results is very stressful.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
