Good morning Ante. Look after yourself Ante - you have a long season ahead of you. I've just seen on the BBC, temperatures throughout the whole of the Mediterranean and it is quite alarming - talking of the high 30's to 40's. Those heats are unbearable. I think I might follow your example and take some cuttings from my lavender - which has been beautiful this year. The flowers are just starting to go over now.

LB, I also saw on the news last night that in Greece will be over 40℃ and next Saturday possible 45 ℃. I can't even imagine so high temperatures.

Hello all, had a couple of days off and feeling better hoping this week will be easier. Our unwell colleague is feeling better and hoping to be back soon.

    Morning all.

@Ante1 - thank you for your kindness. It is very reassuring to know we have a Croatian friend to call on if necessary. It would be lovely to meet up but we'll be in the wrong place and I think you will be a tad busy when we arrive. Probably (sssh!) back at school by the time we arrive and also in full swing with harvesting. Take care and don't make yourself ill working in the heat🙂

LB - Fully understand how you feel about leaving Lily. I was the same with Harry when he became ill. Our furry friends give us so much love and companshionship throughout their lives that it's a small sacrifice to make when they need us most isn't it?

BL - how lovely to see your hedgehog. Can I borrow him / her? My hostas were decimated by slugs and snails after we had a wet spell in Mar / April and haven't recovered. My own fault really. I plant stuff too close together and there would have been loads of wet foliage  providing both a hiding place and a bridge between the hostas.

On the subject of damp. You know all this rain 'everybody' is having (according to the forecasters)? Nah - barely a drop here since we've been home. Even when Wimbers has been rained off and my friend 60 miles south is enjoying the mother of all thunderstorms and my hubby is 50 miles east 'trapped' in a clubhouse because they can't fly because it's sluicing it down and when it says 90% chance of rain on the forecast - still nothing. Lots of black clouds passing by sticking their tongue out....

    Morning all.

Oh dear @Topbird, it sounds like "Jean de Florette". Our butts filled up, then I watered the front garden from the car port butt. It rained but hardly made any difference to the butt. Forecast says rain later today, sunny now.

Friends are coming to dinner tonight. First course is salmon vol au vents. I wanted the biggish ones like in France. Sainsbugs didn't have any so I made them but some are a bit wonky. I'm doing a Spanish orange and almond dessert but the husband of one guest has just told me that she doesn't eat nuts. Another friend gave me a load of rhubarb so I'll do rhubarb fool as well.

Morning all. Got back home and have started with a resurface of Pains etc. Stress most likely. Mum isn't too bad after fall. However a nice respite home has been found and she moves in tomorrow. She took the news surprisingly well. Initially for three weeks but if she settles then it will become her permanent home. Just found the corner and up the road from where she is now.
I have read back but sorry folks, much of it has floated off.( My brain is mush at the moment)  I do recall @star gaze lily getting covid? That's awful on top of everything else. Please take care.
I think Busy is as busy as ever, plenty of rain is falling and poor Ante is melting away. Exhaustion is total, Ante, you must pace yourself in heat. Take care. And Topbird is visiting Croatia. How wonderful.
We are popping out this morning so I'll see you all later.

@Songbird-2 I'm so glad a nice home has been found for your Mum, such a relief for you all. I hope she will be happy and feel looked after there.
