Rosie, it was very emotional but both ladies were popular so to be honest i wasn't too unhappy with whoever won. Looking forward to tomorrow's Men's Final now.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning Debs. I'm glad that your workplace is a happier place now. Long may that continue. You must have enjoyed Thomas' company.
Ante this is what is said by some in the UK on July 15th which is St Swithin's Day.
St.Swithin's day if thou dost rain For forty days it will remain St.Swithin's day if thou be fair For forty days 'twill rain nae mair.
Whilst the rain is essential I am not sure I would want 40 days of it. You may feel differently. Similar things can happen here when a casually dropped cigarette end can start a severe moor fire. I just wish people would THINK!
@Biglad, that would be my perfect finale for this year's Wimbledon - time will tell. Don't get me talking about power companies (or internet providers!) my canines have only just receded.
Rained here today. But fair too!! I wonder how that can be interpreted?
It's been grim at times today - really chucked it down.
I've just had a call to confirm that my next job has been delayed until the SAG strike is over. I'm pretty chuffed with an extended break. Just hope that we get some dry periods so I can catch up in the garden.
Well, as Iβm typing we have bright sunshine and heavy rain. Had lots of thundery showers today, too. I expect the gardens are enjoying it, but the grass has visibly put a growth spurt on and will need cutting the next dry day we get.
Howling gale outside. Newly mown lawn is covered in leaves. At least the towels on the line have dried, despite this mornings shower.
Kev, the gardener, called round to see what there is to do while we are away. He seems a really nice man. We've packed, off after lunch tomorrow, staying Sunday and Monday with OH's daughter in Eastbourne.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
