Morning Ante, you sneaked in there! I was just wondering how busy you must have been over the weekend. All that watering! It is 14°C outside here. Brrrrr! Have a nice break today Ante then you will feel ready for further work at the cottage tomorrow. (Better than school anyway!)
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning everyone . Busy your journey sounds a little stressful . I hope you have both rested. Enjoy your day .LB I hope you have a super time quizzing tonight . Ante enjoy your restful day.
@Biglad - meant to say that seeing as you were able to get on here your glitch with VM must be sorted.
Now you know how I LOVE BG well listen to this for annoyance. I had a Home Care agreement with them (to be terminated ASAP). I had to call out an engineer earlier this year to re-pressurise my boiler. I simple was too puny to turn the little tap so whilst I knew what to do I didn't have the strength and I assumed that I could just call out an engineer to sort it - which I did. I didn't want to bother handy brother. Well as a result of that 'call out' BG have now upped my Home Care agreement by £200 and I quote
'your new price reflects the fact that you made a claim under your policy within the last 12 months.'
I immediately tried to get in touch with them - online. Got this message:

Then the Chat bot showed up so I thought - give it a try. Typed in what I wished to do. Chat bot told me to hold on whilst I was passed over to an agent. I then got a message to say agent had signed out - without me having typed anything further!
I then tried ringing them and they just sent me back to the online page!
I emailed BG having found an email address online - took screen shots of the Home services page and the Chat bot page and sent this off. No response as yet but I expect they will get in touch the minute they cannot get any money out of my account.
So sorry people - rant over but I am really, really hacked off with BG.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning Ruby - you sneaked in there too - probably whilst I was in the middle of ranting about BG. I would love to get out in the garden and vent my spleen on some unsuspecting plants!

Morning. Next doors workmen have arrived and are currently digging up all the bricks that was their old herringbone driveway. Joy, much clattering going on. LB, you have my sympathises. Those chat boxes are pathetic and useless. Get to your bank and hand in a written cancellation note for your DD ( if you pay that way) to stop anymore payments going out after a given date. I've claimed on a previous Home Care claims ( in old house) and never had the premiums changed( cars, yes, boilers no). Waste of space. We get our friendly plumber to service ours now and mend it too if necessary, he is very good with us. Our new boiler is under warranty anyway for ten years. Busy, that was a nightmare journey. Horrible. Ante, enjoy that rest today,,you certainly deserve it.
Woke up to a flat tyre yesterday😕 Off to local garage to get a new one put on. Then in another garage tomorrow for hefty repairs . Joy.
Wow - wasn't that tennis amazing? Brutal and brilliant in equal measure - best match I've watched in ages. I dislike a lot of Jock Itch's antics & mind games but, to be fair, he was gracious in defeat and I was so happy Alcarez won. Exhausted by the end and dinner was a little late!
Your journey down sounds awful @Busy-Lizzie. I've given up navigating if OH is driving. We use Google maps which us 98% reliable and he often says "What do you think - left or right?" Learnt to say the opposite of what I mean long ago as he ALWAYS does the opposite. Irritates the heck out if me.
Yes those flowers are from my garden LB. The roses (for Rosie) are Munstead Wood, Roald Dahl and Gertrude Jekyll. Good luck for the quiz tonight.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Definitely won't hold my breath @Ladybird4 - don't fancy turning blue
Fortunately, I was able to access another wi-fi supplier when VM was down. It seems to be operating properly this morning although one device was claiming not to be connected first thing. It's just off too many times for too long. Pretty crucial for periods when I'm working from home.
All these big companies seem very alike to me. All posting massive profits to keep the rich getting richer, whilst us plebs have to struggle with an increasingly impenetrable shield of tech/bots/automation denying us access to any form of customer service.
Afternoon all. Hazel Alfie was snuggled up and I really enjoyed the final. Sm shop today, not too busy, and managed to get everything I needed. Resting now. Rosie
Back from the Monday morning gardening stint. I was the only one there and did get a bit Marti
It stopped raining as soon as I finished, of course. It's scheduled to get brighter and sunnier as the day goes on. I might even get to paint that trellis later.

Right - off to see if I can avoid getting soaked.
