Good morning all. I had yesterday off as working Saturday so managed some weeding/ cutting back stuff in the garden. Some stuff is starting to look a little bit tired hoping my dahlias will put on a show soon and I am cutting lilies for the house.
Cleared out cupboards in sons old room and it’s a bit tidier in there now. He left so much stuff here. Not sure how we accumulate so much clutter when I hate it so much.
Good morning Rosie and all arriving later. Haircut day for me. Hope the weather stays nice as I'd like to get more done in the garden later. Women's World Cup starts today. Definitely got a sports fest on this summer. Oh and not to forget that hitting balls with sticks. (Don't 'get' that one - I'm with Winston Churchill's observation!)
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning everyone .Debs my house seems to grow clutter .When something is tidied away something else takes it’s place . LB enjoy your time with Bestie .My hair needs cutting . OH has been cutting mine . I am hoping he will cut it soon . Not a fan of going to hairdressers .
Good morning Debs - you weren't there when I posted. Gosh, tell me about clutter! I have got rid of tons of stuff to Sue Ryder but there still seems to be more - quietly reproducing in the dark corners of my home. I keep saying one day I will rent a skip and just chuck everything out. Got handy brother ready to help with that task. The old shed is going to go but at the moment my wrens are nesting in it. I watched one of the parents go in through the tiny gap in the top of the door to be greeted by lots of vigorous cheeping. They nest in there every year so one half of me is wanting to keep the shed so I don't deprive them of a safe nursery. Decisions decisions!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning Ruby. I seem to be playing catch up with Rezzers this morning. Bestie's daughter is a mobile hairdresser and she has looked after my hair for ages. It means that I fit in my weekly visit with my hair appointments - very convenient.

I wouldn’t mind my own clutter but we seem to have so much of other peoples stuff too.
Off to David Austin rose gardens today with youngest daughter going to pick a rose out but I won’t buy it until the autumn I think bare root roses do so much better. Very excited to see their new pink rose. And smell it!
Delicious lunch is also planned so a pretty good day. Hope it stays dry.
I hope you enjoy David Austin's garden @debs64. I don't expect all the roses will be in flower though, having had their first flush in June, but there should be plenty of flowers all the same. Three of my four David Austin's have flowers.
We arrived back at my French home yesterday afternoon, having stopped at the SM on the way. CB had mown, strimmed, watered most of it and cut the hedge. I have picked a huge cucumber, a tomato and a courgette. The beans haven't all germinated but the ones there are have flowers and some small beans. The sweet corn is tall. The brassicas are a bit of a failure and the spinach beet is pathetic. The butternut plants are all over the place, very vigorous. A lot of weeding needs to be done in the orchard fence bed with yellow roses and blue perennials. The Jewel Bed looks lovely, very floriferous but masses of dead heading needs doing.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Made a batch of blackcurrant jam this morning, using mainly bags of blackcurrants from the freezer, just to make space. As I stirred, I realised one of the frozen masses was actually blackberries. I don't imagine it'll make too much difference to the taste!!
Afternoon all. Done weekly SM shop for bits and pieces and then dropped in to our favourite store Du*e*m for some new hand towels and a picture frame( for a photo for mum). Trip to another SM and then to the car garage to pay for repairs. OH is now cutting grass, the NDN's workmen have all but finished( bit of tidying up to do) have made good our front garden borders where they'd cemented the edging cobbles to secure them and I've done some deadheading. Now waiting for next SM delivery and then all jobs will be done. Ive started packing for our visit to mums, don't know when yet as will depend on weather. The whole weekend looks horrendous with heavy rain from West to East so we may wait i until a nicer day. Busy, glad you've made it back to your French home safe and sound and the gardener chappie sounds as if he's kept the main stuff well under control for you. Debs, hope you have a really nice relaxing day today, you deserve it. Biglad, yummy jam, bet they taste nice together.🙂 LB, hair cut day for me tomorrow, we must be on the same rota....
