Be kind to yourself Hazel - we don't need you making yourself ill again. Hope your mum is slowly settling in but both you and your mum are going through some major changes which, hopefully, will turn out eventually to be for the best.
The garden, house, routine tasks just need to take a back seat for a little while to give you time to adjust your settings. Trust me the jobs will still be there when you have a little more energy.
Rosie - ssshh! - my hedge needs cutting too but I'm ignoring it.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Such kind words @Topbird, you've nearly set me off again😢🙂 I agree that other things will be taking a back seat for now. I feel my head is all over the place at the moment.
Hazel I’m glad you’re home safe and sound after such a difficult journey physically and emotionally. I pray that mum will be happy in her new surroundings and will have great care. Topbird having a restful day. LB deaf as a post today, ordered enrol and hoping ears will pop. Had to stay in as crossing roads would be difficult. Rosie
Rosie - I get a blocked ear every now and again. A teaspoon of room temperature olive oil (using an ear dropper) for 10 mins at a time for about 3 days usually sorts it out but, every 2 years or so, I have to get the yucky wax sucked out. Costs about £40 a time but it is soooooo nice when it's done and much pleasanter and safer than having water swished in.

👍🏼pleased to hear @Biglad. Hope you managed to get some gardening done too.
Hazel, I am so sorry that your visit was so traumatic for you. Wise words from T'Bird. I experienced similar when handy brother and I took Mum to her care home all those years ago. Neither of us really wanted to leave her but it would have been such a constant worry for us regarding her safety when her carers weren't at her bungalow. She eventually settled and the other people in the care home (not all were there because of dementia like Mum) were such good company for her. She was so well looked after.
Rosie, very wise not to venture out when your hearing is affected. Times like that make you appreciate how difficult things can be for deaf people and the sweet relief when your ears get cleared.
i'm not going out quizzing tonight so I'll be able to watch OC and Uni Chall. When I did the catch up I was truly pathetic.
Hazel - for you:
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I am signing out now to get my brain in gear. See you all tomorrow. I was so very saddened to hear today about George Alagiah passing away. Great newscaster. R.I.P.

I came home from cottage few moments ago, and just popped in to say hello. Tomorrow must go again very early. Whole this week it's going to rain, which will help me, but on the other side, I can't sow my winter crops. Hope you all are well, and see you tomorrow or day after.
Ante, its raining again here this morning - after a nice day yesterday. I hope that you get the rain that you need - to spare you your huge watering job. It does seem that Nature is trying her very best - wherever we are - to spoil our growing plans.
p.s. pleased to say I did much better on OC and Uni Chall last night.
