Morning Ruby. Thanks to you and Ante for your congratulations! I think I might be working in the shelter of the garage as I have to mix up some compost for a large tub in which I am going to plant one of my hydrangeas. I want to get these little jobs done asap. Will need an umbrella to go to the post box first though.
p.s. Ante, my fish love courgettes!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Thank you @Busy-Lizzie feeling a bit more like me today. Still very tired though. A horrible virus that's wiped me out. Thankfully I've had vaccines, it made me wonder what I would have felt like if I hadn't had any. Although maybe they don't last as long as we'd hoped. Hope your OH is feeling much better now and is managing well after his operation. @Rubee hope your OH is well too. Take care everyone.
Afternoon all. Been busy planning our next trip away. Watch out Ante! - think we might be heading for Croatia.... Not near you though - just over the border into Istria. A few days of beach and crystal clear waters hopefully. It will make me want to go sailing but we might not get any further than renting kayaks or a small boat.
SGL - good to hear you're starting to feel a little better. Don't worry if you're feeling tired. Extreme fatigue is one possible side effect of Covid. I had quite a few days when I could fall asleep almost as soon as I sat down. Didn't matter if it was a comfy chair or not, in public or not. Got to be a tad embarrassing🤭
Hope everything is working out for @Songbird-2. Not an easy time for her.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
T'bird, I0m so glad that you will again come in Croatia. I'm not too far from Istria, so if you want and have time, you have open invitation. Of course you can also contact me if you have some question or problem while you will be there.
Still hot and quite humid. I was at SM, but crowd was intolerable. I'm going to nibble something and then go to bed.
I just went to lock the kitchen door when I heard a strange grunting noise, sort of snuffling, then a large hedgehog popped out of the little bed opposite the kitchen door onto the path! That explains why the 2 hostas in that bed are hardly ever eaten by slugs and snails. I haven't seen a hedgehog for ages.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning @rowlandscastle444 and all later arrivals. I was so tired after gardening yesterday that I forgot to even sign out! First time ever.
@rowlandscastle you are not alone in having some sleepless, broken nights but for once I slept pretty well last night. Its pouring with rain here so I might be confined to barracks. Boo!
Busy, how lovely to have a hedgehog visit. Best slug control ever!
T'Bird, it must be great planning your next trip. I'm hesitant at the moment as Lily is now in the sunset of her life and I can't go away and leave her for someone else to look after.
Ante, we have had a few hot and sticky days and nights here. It doesn't help comfortable sleeping. I guess you may be harvesting again today? Time for a cuppa.

LB, you described exactly my last night.🥵. I'll not go to cottage today, because I don't feel quite well. I'm exhausted I think, and heat doesn't help.
Grey and windy morning. It's still hot and according to long term forecast whole July will be like that. Next Monday and Tuesday should be the worst. I'm not looking forward to this. I already done some small jobs in front garden. I'm finished with watering, then I took lavender and rosemary cuttings, and harvested basil from few pots. Whole kitchen smells so lovely. Now is time for cup.
