Good afternoon all. I'm afraid that the rain put a stop to my gardening but not before I dug out two clumps of 'sticks' that used to be rhododendrons and got them dumped in my green bin. I managed to plant out one of my hydrangeas and the passion flower I bought yesterday. The rain will help them settle in.
@Busy-Lizzie I hope that your gardening wasn't rudely interrupted by rain.
Ante - excuse me - 35ยฐC?! I would be liquefied I think I expect you will have spent a lot of time watering today.
Ruby, I think my garden is starting to go even more wild than it is usually so i can see a lot of tidying up on the horizon.
@rowlandscastle444 and @AnniD thank you for the kind words - there are many more Snoopy cartoons to come.
@Red maple and @star gaze lily, I thought we needed a sunshiny beach scene to start off our new thread seeing as we are approaching school holidays and the lucky ones may be jetting off to visit somewhere similar. I wouldn't mind a paddle in that too!ย
SGL, pleased to hear that you are feeling a little better today. Keep being kind to yourself x

I am signing out early for today as I am quizzing tonight somewhere north of Bolton. Its not my usual team but I fill in when they are short of a team member. Being picked up so thats a relief. Going to get my brain in gear now. I have missed the TV Monday quizzes. I hope that you all have peaceful evenings.

    Evening all,

We got rain early this afternoon but I was under a tree canopy so was able to carry on with my weeding at the memorial garden for a bit longer than I would've if I'd been exposed. Will try and get down for another session this week as everything has exploded into growth with the weeds leading the way!

Been slumped in the CA watching tennis since I got home.

I'm sorry you've had Covid @star gaze lily, I hope you feel better soon.

It hasn't rained today, was quite sunny and warm. I've been pruning the Albertine rose and the honeysuckle that a previous owner planted in the same hole to the detriment of both. They are obviously quite old now and the rose is ill at one end. I've cut off all the sickly looking bits and cut out loads of dead honeysuckle from underneath. It's taken ages and the brown bin is full.

    Good morning to all.

Sunny and warm morning. Yesterday was little bit too much for me, so today I'll rest. Forecast changed and next ten days nothing about refreshment and rain. Yesterday I spent four hours just watering, plus weeding and gathering veggies. Delivery for pets should arrive this morning.

Good morning Ante and all later arrivals. Well the team didn't win the quiz last night but it was enjoyable. I discovered that I have now been enrolled as a member of the team and will be quizzing again next Monday - apparently its a sort of two weeks on then one week off (I think!). It was raining as I was dropped off last night and it is still very wet outside. Got a few things to stick in the post box then it could be indoors.
Ante, I guessed you could be busy watering. What veggies were you collecting? Hope the pet food delivery arrives on time.

Good morning LB. I'm glad that you enjoyed last night quizzing, and congratulation on your new enrolment as team member. Veggies looking good, and slightly everything coming for harvest. Yesterday I harvested first courgettes, more sugar pea, chard and dill.ย  ย
