Morning all. We had rain last night and the soil is now dark and rich. The breeze is getting up here now, we have been forecast with winds of up to 35 mph.Canopy and parasol taken down as I don't want them blowing away.
@rowlandscastle444,many congratulations of getting an offer accepted. When we moved we started in the July and ended up moving on 14/12 but we didn't mind it being right near Xmas. We just wanted to move so would have done so in six foot of snow if need be. There will be a lot to do....don't do what I did though and that was to end up in hospital for  a week round  Bonfire  night😱😂 My poor OH had everything to do then. He was exhausted. But it was exciting too and OH had to make many trips to local recycling centre🙂
@debs64, oh poor you. I do wish something would be done quickly for you and your colleagues, it really is no fun at all working when it's so stressful. Hope you  have a relaxing weekend.
@Ladybird4  wow, that cactus flower is delightful, you really must have green cacti fingers. I've never had a cactus flower. Hope it warms up for you at some point today.
@biglad, let it all go now, freedom beckons whatever you do.
@Busy-Lizzie, enjoy your day looking round all the lovely garden, bet they're lush at this time of year. Having said that, all my foxgloves are on their last legs and my  lovely white delphinium has gone over too. So early this year.
@Rubee, don't overdo it outside, you sound as if you've been busy outside lately. Nice to get some fresh air though.

    Morning all,
very blustery here, with a small amount of rain in the breeze at times. I doubt we’ll get the hedge trimmed today as planned, might have to wait until tomorrow and hope it’s less breezy.
Sorry that yesterday was horrible at work @debs64 and hope there is soon a resolution for you all. I hope your young colleague is soon feeling better, too. I don’t know what that condition is, but hope the meds she has to take soon have a positive effect for her.
    Beautiful cacti flower @Ladybird4.
🤞@rowlandscastle444. Hope your move goes ahead without problems.
Well, a bit of baking beckons, we’ve got a couple of over ripe bananas to use up. 😁

We didn't see the village gardens after all. They were on the village garden website for Suffolk. It was a town, not a village and there were no signs at all or publicity. We went to a small GC a bit hidden away as the website said you could buy tickets there. They wouldn't tell us where the gardens were until we bought the tickets, the map was on the tickets. Then they said only 3 were open today but they wouldn't tell us which three or if they were the ones with loos or serving teas. So we didn't buy tickets, we changed our minds and did Plan B instead.

Plan B was to visit Fuller's Mill Garden near Bury St. Edmunds. It's an RHS partner garden and a member of "Perennial". We had seen it twice a few years ago, in spring and autumn. It was lovely and we had hot chocolate and cake as well. OH managed it all without his buggy. I will post some photos.

E evening all. Not up to much today, we did pop to the famous DIY store and came out with a lovely pot of cosmos plus what we went there for in the first place🙂 It has been very windy here with huge gusts of winds, all day. I found some stems off the clematis on the lawn plus some  flowers broken. We did wait in all morning for the Royal  Mail to deliver a parcel( as per their e mail and tracking info) only to discover that they altered it all, very late in the morning to say it's just arrived at Newcastle somewhere😬 A morning wasted.
Im going to sign off for today and attempt some knitting. Wish me luck! Have a good evening all.

All sounds a bit silly @Busy-Lizzie. I wouldn't have bought tickets either!

Spent a good 3 hours in the garden this afternoon - very blustery but stayed fine with a few glimpses of sunshine. Did a lot of tying up and training berry plants that have been quietly spreading all over the place whilst I wasn't looking! Weeding, pruning, potting on and shifting stuff around was very satisfying. There is a bit more order and I've got the next batch of jobs in my head. A few victims of the weather conditions during winter/spring have been disposed of. They had until the longest day to gain a reprieve.

Came inside to watch the last couple of hours of the cricket  :o

Hello all. Well the sun finally broke through so I was able to get outside and plant out 4 hardy geraniums that have been living in their pots for far too long.
Hazel, the wind was blowing a hooley and thrashing my shrubs about all over the place. I know that you and I share a dislike of high winds. All the rain that had been deposited on the taller plants was shaken off all over me but I soon dried off once I got indoors.
@Red maple, I love making cakes with over ripe bananas. I rarely have any these days though, as I eat a banana a day and have done for as long as I can remember and as I buy them whilst they are still quite green they don't have time to get over ripe. I see your hedge cutting got put on hold as well. I'm keeping fingers crossed for tomorrow.
