A very good morning Rosie. I've just come in from my early morning garden inspection and it has started to rain. Having 'lost' my charging cable for my hedge trimmer, I had to buy another one that arrived yesterday. I was all set for hedge cutting today but the rain has put paid to that unfortunately. Time yet though as it is still early.
Rosie, I am enjoying watching the tennis (not so much the test match highlights though - finger nails are chewed off!) and am looking forward to the spectacle that is Wimbledon. And now for a cuppa and some breakfast. Lily has not yet put in an appearance but her food is all ready for her.

Last day on this tedious job (fingers crossed!). My boss has threatened to ring me at some point today. I sincerely hope he doesn't. Ideally, I'll be done by early afternoon and having a Friyay pint with a mate. Well I can dream, can't I? Â
I should be off for at least a fortnight before the next one starts so will be able to enjoy Wimbledon and the Headingley test. The Open is after those but I may be working by then Â
I was out earlier as well @Ladybird4 but I'll do my full inspection after ticking off another couple of items on today's work to do list. It's dry and cooler at the moment but the forecast isn't great.
Morning @Biglad fingers crossed here for you. Your boss sounds like a right twonk. If he rings - don't answer! Better still, answer, make out like you have a bad line and you can't hear him then hang up.

Hello all, extra hours at work yesterday as the lady who has been off sick isn’t really well enough to come back so had to go to A&E. I couldn’t leave them so short staffed so I stayed an extra 3 hours. We have the area manager in today hopefully he will realise how bad the situation is and help. Fingers crossed.Â
Cooler here and some rain just what the garden needs. And me!Â
Good morning everyone. A very warm night .A little cooler this morning .LB if you intend to cut your hedge when the rain has stopped take it steady .You can do without anymore problems with your back . Debs I hope the area manager can help the situation at you place of work .Enjoy your day everyone.
Morning all. Have just opened the greenhouse door and it's decidedly cooler outside. We are popping to sons this morning to push some documents  through his door and the calling in at a family run nursery on the way home. We now have a pot in the front garden empty after dispensing with the plant that was in there which wasn't doing well at all.( garden gets ful, sun all afternoon). Then I think it's time to get flat hot metal thing out😉 Debs, good luck at work today.Â
Just checked and he last rang me on 3rd May @Ladybird4. He won't be ringing with any sincere, heartfelt gratitude that's for sure. More like, have you done this, that and the other. Not quite sure how I've become responsible for filling all the gaps for the 6 months prior to me starting on the job. I could always block his number.... Â
Afternoon all. Best laid plans definitely went pear shaped. Ruby, hedge cutting has gone on the back burner as it has rained ALL DAY so far. Not a happy bunny.
Debs, well done you for going above and beyond yesterday. I do hope that your colleague who had to go to A&E is OK. Did the Area Manager get stuck in to help you all?
Hazel, I trust that the family are all recovered and enjoying the remainder of their holiday. Did you give in to major temptations at the GC or just go for the replacement pot. I have replanted my troughs which get the serious sun with a mixture of sempervivums I think these will be the best selection for that situation. You will have the advantage of a deeper root run in a pot. The troughs are quite shallow hence my sempervivum choice.
@Biglad I love the blocked number possibility! Before I had that facility on my landline, plus the number recognition facility I used some of the following ripostes:
Sorry, can't hear you speak up please.
(Phony accent) Sorry me no spik English.
I am au pair - lady out.
What have you forgotten this time?
Look I know you are X just trying to wind me up.
And finally, when really hacked off, 'I'm sorry but she passed away last week.'
I used to have a real good laugh, and now all those calls never get through to me.
