Beautiful picture LB. Thanks for new thread. Here we go again.....

Sorry to read your back is still not good, pain is not a good companion at all and so restrictive. I empathise with back problems though, they are not pleasant at all. Rest up tonight, wise decision to stay at home, sitting for hours would exacerbate things.

What a good idea of your council to dot around skips for free use, ideal for those with unwanted heavy goods to get rid of and as a deterrent.

We got to the recycling centre this morning, we didn't have much so it was a very quick visit but the back garden is free from rubbish hanging around.

Glad you managed to get your recycling done Hazel. I am signing out for tonight. Enjoy your evenings - whether you are watching Eurovision or not. Hope Debs is enjoying the atmosphere.

  • Just woken up and had a quick pastrami sandwich for tea.  Eurovision on.  Enjoy your evening all.  LB I can empathise hurt my back jostling a wardrobe some years ago and the pain the next day made me feel sick.  Hope you sleep.  Hazel you’d have been glad for your mini clearout.  Changed for bed now.

Oh, a new thread! If I'd known I would have waited before posting those photos.

Why does this thread have to start again after 100 pages? I thought the problem of long threads had been solved.

  • Morning all.  I can hear the birds tweeting in the quiet.  I’ve had breakfast and dressed.  I need to get an electrician to disconnect the cooker as there’s too short a connection cable to get behind the cooker when it comes to fitting any flooring.   Thank goodness for cats they don’t do your head in.  Time for a song and a Baileys not for breakfast though.

    Morning all (from the CA),

Forecast to be cooler than yesterday and looks a bit hazy but still should be another cracker. Back lawn got mown in stages yesterday - mainly to ease the glass back into it, but also with a thought to any insects and frogs that might want to abandon ship once the mayhem started. Didn't see any froglets (there's normally a couple lurking in the longer grass) - maybe the drainage that was put in last summer has dried the garden well enough to make it less inviting for them!

Planted a few sweet pea seedlings against the back fence - the bare expanse is slowly but surely getting covered up!

A revamp of the strawberry border, some patio pointing and more seed sowing are on the to do list for today. Whether any of those get actually get done is another matter  ;)

Good morning all. Back home late last night not too late but missed most of the mania, just wanted to be in Liverpool on the actual day packing up the atmosphere. I see we did badly but never mind. We did Eurovision and Liverpool can be very proud of itself. Lovely city with great people and the weather!
Will spend today in the garden after a walk with my sister. I want to tortoise proof everywhere so Graham can come out of his enclosure more he seems to want to explore. Obviously an area measuring 6 foot by 8 foot is too restricted for a tortoise I can hold easily in one hand. He needs the whole garden.
@Ladybird4 hope that back pain eases off. How is your OH @Rubee

Good morning Rosie, Biglad, debs and all to follow.

Rosie, hope the electrician will fix problem with cooker. Enjoy in Baileys, later of course. 😁

Debs, I'm glad you had a nice time in Liverpool.

My pets are again sleeping after breakfast and I have my tea. Outside is awful, and next week will not improve. It looks it will be another day for tv and reading.

Wish you all nice and dry(rain😉) Sunday.

I'm so glad that I planted potatoes. There is still quite a lot to plant and sow, but it must wait. Just look at this forecast 😠.
