Good morning all. Gardening day for me today so many jobs to do to get ready for summer which seems to have finally arrived.Â
@Rubee hope you see some improvement soon. Does your OH take probiotics? Some antibiotics can really upset the stomach especially the less usual ones. Just a thought, even live yoghurt helps and they do some nice flavours now.Â
Whilst watching GW last night I couldn't help but observe that Monty's garden is so much further on than mine. It was a good programme and I won't spoil it for people who may not have seen it yet but look out for Logan - joyous!
@Biglad - or should that be Diglad? - does this mean you are 'By Appointment' now?
Thanks for the explanation Rosie. I bet you can't wait now!
Hope my engineer arrives sooner than later this morning otherwise I'll just be on 'hover'!
Ante, I hope that you manage to get lots ofwork done at the cottage today. We'll have to wait another week to hear about all the plants that sneak into your basket!
Fingers crossed that these new antibiotics help your OH Ruby. I guess you will be in your garden today?

I've been busy with Daughter 1's visit. They came in time for lunch on Thursday, Ascension Day and a bank holiday in France. D1 admired the garden that I've made. She hasn't seen it coming into flower, last came January 2022. The 2 boys played in the river. D1 and I went for a walk. I posted photo on the Walks thread.
We had a good day yesterday and it was warm and sunny. We didn't go to the market after all. Daughter 1 wanted to go to the plant nursery instead and her sons and OH just wanted to relax. She was quite impressed with the nursery, size of plants and cheap prices. She bought a trolley load of shrubs and perennials.
Then we all went out to a lovely restaurant in Aubeterre. We had lunch on the pretty terrace. The village is built on the side of a hill, lovely views. There were a lot of tourists. Thursday, Ascension Day, was a bank holiday in France so a lot of people take Friday off too. We looked around the village after lunch.
They left late afternoon.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Ante the sun is shining and the birds are tweeting, a lovely day.  Enjoy your tea.  Lilys tv on.  LB don’t overdo it and stretch before and after.  Rosie
Afternoon all. Had a bit of a lie-in this morning after a restless night. It's a beautiful day here, sun is shining and at the far end of the garden it's 25c, lovely. I've planted out some cosmos in a large ceramic pot I've had prepared for them for weeks. They are ready to be in the ground/pot. We've noticed that a Geum we have, which was doing really well, had suddenly gone off and looks like it's dying. I've dug it up this afternoon and found loads of lawn grubs in the soil, in the roots and even in the crown of the plant. Yuk! I found " something" that was pupating! Plus lots of tiny weeny slugs, yuk again. I do find these bug things rather grotty. I've potted up the Geum now and we will see what happens. I've had Lily's TV on and everything has dried nicely outside.
Goodness me, so many of you were up and about early this morning. Early birds.
Lovely pics @Busy-Lizzie and what a lovely place.Glad you're having a good time with family. How is your  OH's mouth feeling today? Was the procedure he had painful? Hope everyone else is enjoying tithe weather today. Make the most of it😊 Nice to see you @Biglad, busy as usual doing all sorts of things. Rosie, ah, thanks for the explanation re having to wait until Monday. As LB said, bet,you can't wait!
Good afternoon all. My engineer arrived nice and early and as I thought he sorted the boiler pressure in 10 seconds. He was very nice and that right hand 'tap' was even tough for him. Once he'd loosened it he got me to try and it was so much easier. He said that they do have a tendency to stiffen up when they are not used very often. At least I found out that I was doing everything right. He then checked the boiler over and drilled a screw into the large pipe leading from the top of the boiler to the outside - the vent maybe? Why it has gone for years without needing this I have no idea. Maybe its a new safety thing. He also tested my carbon monoxide alarm. All ok there. I have spent hours in the garden today and loved every minute. I hope I don't pay for it tomorrow but I was very careful. Planted over a dozen plants including my apple tree into their permanent garden positions. Its amazing how much more room I appear to have now that the pots have been emptied. Weird or what? Anyway, I am done for the day. Dreadful night on TV tonight - nearly all programmes are repeats from '21 and '22. I think I might be reading.
