Good morning everyone. Going to finish building the cat climber today .Big Lad I love a quiz ,keeps the brain in gear. Love the cartoon LB .Love the idea of a bean bag summer .Enjoy your day folks .
Morning. Very hot, still and muggy here, just nicely ready for the impending storms tomorrow. Son and 23 are popping over later this morning prior to their fortnights holiday in Turkey. As they are sun lovers they should be in their element there🥵 I'm looking forward to Queens next week and after that, Wimbledon, can't wait.😊 I like that cartoon too LB, very appropriate for these heady days...... Ante, don't overdo it at the cottage, earthing up the tatties, ( potatoes) it will be a very physical exercise for you😬🙂
Debs, it is very overcast here and no sign of the sun breaking through so it is very comfortable. I've emptied two troughs at the front of my house. The poor plants there haven't stood a chance in the heat. I've replaced them with lots of the sempervivums I had been growing on from babies in the greenhouse. I think that they should be OK
@Biglad, I just loved Tuffers reaction when they declared yesterday. I shall be listening in whilst I dip in and out of Trooping The Colour.
I love a good quiz too Ruby and am suffering withdrawal symptoms on a Monday night! Hazel, I shall be watching tennis too. It just symbolises summer to me.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
LB overcast here I can’t say I’m sorry we’ve had some stifling days. Threatening to rain, hopefully. Ante take it steady today. Hazel enjoy your son and 23s visit before their holiday.
Rosie, it has stayed overcast all day here. Not even a glimmer of sunshine. I've finished all the watering I intend to do for today. I moticed that the bargain hydrangea (£1) I rescued from 'sco several weeks back is now covered in buds. I am waiting to see what colour it is but am glad I got such a bargain. It is still quite tiny - only about 30cms tall. Once the buds are opened I'll take another picture.
Hazel, I hope you had a fun visit from son and 23.

Evening all. It's been a lovely day here - sunny, low 20s, nice sea breeze.
We cycled to an important prehistoric stone 'circle' (except it's unusually boat shaped). It was a round trip of just short of 25 miles. Nothing too daunting but far enough for me - especially as we seemed to have a strong head wind both on the outbound and inbound journeys🤔
Then we walked down to a pretty little harbour with lots of fish stalls and had f&c for lunch followed by ice creams. They probably made the return journey seem more difficult....
Lots of wild flowers on the verges and the skylarks were singing their hearts out over the fields - lovely.
I'll see if there are some photos worth sharing.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Goodness Topbird, 25 miles! That's such a long way, you and OH must be super fit.🏋️🏋️🚴♀️🚴 Couldn't have even thought about that here today, it's been so muggy, close and getting ready for tomorrow. We have no energy at all. Even 23 was out of sorts with himself. ( bit like cats behave when a storm is brewing😬). He couldn't settle to anything and was flying about the place. He decided he wanted to stay so his dad went off home and we endeavoured to keep him as occupied as we could. When we took him home, I noticed a lone snapdragon had seeded itself in sons front garden( which is all gravelled over) so he took it out of the ground and we took it home. I've potted it up and now hope it'll take. It a lovely cream and pale lemon colour. Im signing off too folks, for now. I hope we all get some sleep tonight although I'm not hopeful😬😂 Rest, at least....night all.
