Have had a trawl around the garden and had to tie up a foxglove which was hoovering somewhere near the ground😬 Other plants are battered too LB but, like you, hoping they will pick up. The sun is trying to get out so will need to wind the canopy down again and get all the plants out of greenhouse and shaded plastic greenhouse/ shed which Id tucked away , last night, for the storm and lightening that never came.

Morning Debs. Thats the way to go - concentrate on all the nice things you can do and just keep going with your head down. Smile at the obstreperous customers and imagine them in their underwear. On second thoughts maybe not! Not a pretty sight!
Hazel, don't do too much in case you have another flare up of your PR.

    Good morning,
lovely bright sunshine and feeling a little fresher after last evenings storm. We didn’t get a lot of rain with the thunder and lightning, but I think we’ve had further rain through the night judging by the ground. It’s certainly perked up the plants.

I hope your day at work isn’t as bad as you fear @debs64. A lovely gesture of yours to take sweet peas to your colleagues, too.

I did a bit more tidying of the borders yesterday. They look a bit bare in places now - just might have to seek out some bedding plants to fill the spaces 😁.

What an interesting carving of the longboat @Topbird. I agree, it’s amazing how things from so long ago survive to such clarity today. Sweden is, indeed, a beautiful country. It’s quite a long time since I was last there, we stayed with friends. Like you, I found English spoken just about everywhere. I’d have a go at some Swedish phrases and the’d answer me in English 😁.

    Morning all.

We had rain last night, don't know how long it rained for as we went to bed. Dry and sunny this morning. Lily's TV is on.

I'm off to a local GC, need a few bedding plants. OH has gone to Halfords and DIY places. Means I can browse and maybe go to another GC as well  :)
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Am feeling rather cheated.I have nurtured the Golden 50th Wedding Anniversary rose for a few months now. It's finally in flower but it has no fragrance at all. The label says ' very fragrant'. Humph.....

Hazel, there are a few anniversary roses with 'Golden' in their name. Golden Wedding - a floribunda has only a light fragrance but Golden Celebration is highly fragrant. Golden Future is another one that is only lightly fragrant. The scent can be more pronounced when the sun shines on the flowers later in the afternoon. Maybe someone at the nursery muddled labels up?

Aaargh @Biglad. VM are 'experiencing some technical problems' so at the moment I cannot access my email account. Hazel, I will second your 'Humph'!

It's a hybrid tea bush rose LB, just checked label. It has opened more during the morning so will post a pic of it , it is looking rather pretty.
Oh no, @Biglad,,not again! I remember LB having a bit of trouble with VM,,you'd think they would get themselves sorted out.
Busy, hope you enjoy your browse around the garden centre/s, lucky you.
Debs, hope work isn't as bad as anticipated. Maybe folks are sun-frazzled with the heat🧐
It's very muggy here again but we have the patio door open with a bug  screen across so at least we can feel the breeze coming in. Plumber and his mate have been and gone and left a very good job done behind hem.👍
    Watching Queens now🙂
