  • LB I’m sure your bestie will be happy it’s a lovely one.  My aquilegias are going over now but have provided a lot of colour and quite tall.  Enjoy your evening everyone.

Time for me to sign out for this evening Rosie. I've checked out several good white varieties.
@Biglad, are you ready for The Ashes tomorrow. I bet it pours down! The rain dancers will be doing their best. Daren't say a word in case I put the kiss of death on the match.
See you all in the morning.

A very good morning one and all. Another scorcher on the horizon. Should be a good day's play at Edgbaston. Will be out watering soon. Didn't have a good sleep last night - it was too warm even with the fan on.

Good morning @Ladybird4 and all to follow. Slept like a log until 7am and feeling better. Difficult juggling act at work because obviously I want to help but also I can’t do too much I am no spring chicken and 8 hours on my feet plus 2 hours commute in this heat is unsustainable then of course work itself is busy and stressful and we are all grumpy and overtired.
Walk in the woods with my sister today and some pottering in the garden I think.

Good morning everyone. Debs travelling all that way to work everyday must be exhausting in itself let alone an eight hour shift. Get as much rest as you can .LB have a good day .Get some rest in this heat .

    Good morning Debs and Ruby.
Debs, I agree with Ruby. You have very long days when ypu are at work - factoring in the travel as well. I would be shattered too after all that. Enjoy your walk and your pottering today.
Ruby, have you built the cat activity centre yet. It would be lovely to see a picture.

It’s only an hour each way and that’s because I have to rely on public transport, 15 minutes in a car. I cut my shifts to 6hours last year because I was too tired but of course I am on my feet all the time and I have to face it I am getting older. It’s a part time job and I don’t want it making me so tired that I can’t enjoy my time off. I know that I am very lucky that I am able to afford to work part time only. Sorry to moan I know others have much more to deal with. Sun is shining here looking forward to a fairly lazy day.

    Morning all.

We went to Peter Beales Classic Roses yesterday but I didn't buy roses. I bought 2 fuchsias, Polar and Alice Hoffman, needed something for a bit of shade. Also bought some compost.

The gardens were looking lovely, apart from a big thistle. I think some of the roses might have suffered a bit though from last year's heatwaves and the lack of rain recently here. They are having a Rose Festival this weekend so we will be going again.

Another sunny day but a bit cooler. Drizzle forecast for Sunday.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
