Good morning Busy. Hope you manage to get all your plantings done. My sis and BIL are on their way to France - sent me a beautiful sunrise picture from Warwick where they stopped for breakfast earlier.
I have made the decision to cancel my Food Bank duties for this Thursday as I do not want to undo the progress I have made on my back. I really hate letting those good people down but the work includes a lot of bending stretching and carrying and I think I would be a hindrance rather than a help. I've texted Bestie (like Jack, she is not a morning person!) and I'll call her later as I usually pick her up. I've emailed the coordinators to let them know. They have plenty of volunteers so it won't be a big problem and Bestie will still go. I was half hoping I would manage it but it makes sense, as the Doc said to rest - probably the only sensible thing he did say - and I want to get the back mended asap!

@Busy-Lizzie you are well named, 2 gardens to maintain! I struggle with just one and it’s only small. You must have nerves of steel relying on others to water when you are away I was worried leaving my precious plants and have vowed no more holidays in May!Â
Morning all.I'm glad your OH's leg is somewhat improving @Rubee, at last. Fingers crossed it continues to get better. There isn't much for us to do  in the garden now, except plant out our cosmos in a couple of weeks. We don't get many/any weeds here for some reason so it's just a case of keeping things tidy ,supported and fed. It isn't a big garden though.  OH and I can start planning some away days for this summer, which we've missed doing for some years now. I do want to try and get to Harlow Carr this year. Hope @Ante1 is doing okay this week, there is such a lot of hard work for him to do at this time of year. Trust he taking care of himself. LB, think you do right about cancelling the Food Bank this week. One wrong move and you could be back to square one. No.... Debs, I do like the Marvel Franchise of fantasy films, let us know your opinion of the  Guardians of the Galaxy film, be interesting to know what it's like. I'd wonder if the baby Groot has grown up?!
Thank you @debs64. I am retired and you are still working, big difference. I really admire my daughter. She's a primary school teacher here in France, has 3 sons and a big garden. Her roses are amazing, around 120 of them!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
LB I think it’s best to rest and avoid exacerbating.  Hope you have a more comfortable day.  I’ve organised for this week a home visit for flooring samples and also a sparky so getting on with things as the floor needs a protective cover asap.  Cloudy overhead.   Hazel how lovely not to have weeds.  It’ll be good to organise some days out.  Hopefully there’ll be warmer days ahead soon.
Been out this afternoon to the famous DIY store. Our under stairs cupboard has started " dropping" due to screws in the hinges splitting the wood of the door. Got some hardwood plywood and this will be a good  project for OH to get on with.  He will undercoat it, paint it, put some mouldings on it and hang it...hopefully. It should be nice when it's finished and a lot more sturdy than what's up now. Rosie,  I'm glad you've managed to get an electrician coming and the floor sample chap. Enjoy choosing the new flooring.
@Songbird-2 I enjoyed the film. Groot is now definitely very grown up. Main story focuses on Rocket. I found it quite sad in parts as an animal lover but definitely worth a watch though rather too loud in parts.Â
Hi folks, Glad to hear that legs and backs are improving and that Debs OH is feeling much better now he is in his new job. I've had a bit of a frantic week. Had the boys today, whilst I was cooking their tea Gabriel stripped off and starting dancing under the garden sprinkler much to Jonah's amusement. It wasn't particularly warm so he was soon inside under a blanket. Jonah spent a few hours in A&E on Sunday after falling off his bike and splitting his chin open. Think they glued it together and the doctor said it shouldn't scar.  Have a few quieter days coming up so hopefully I should get some gardening done. Â
Goodness me Yvie! Poor Jonah. Sounds like he has bounced back though. I had a quick shiver reading about the playing around the garden sprinkler. It wasn't that warm here and there was a little bit of rain too this afternoon.
I am signing out for tonight. See you all tomorrow.
