Internet came back on around 11am. Not much point ringing them today @Songbird-2 as it is always outages in the general area rather than specific to our house. I'll be having a word when I've finished this job and got more time, though
This is as tempestuous as the sky got last night during the period when thunderstorms were forecast. Not a drop!
Frustrating Biglad, but good to hear it's now restored. I am having a very quiet day to give joints a rest but am twiddling my thumbs as can't do any knitting yet.
Good afternoon all. Guess which twonk left her gardening clogs outside last night so that they were full of water this morning? I tipped them both out and propped them in the sun to dry and I've just brought them in. Luckily I have another pair.
Hazel do you think that your plumbing problems are sorted now? I am surprised your plumber didn't have the necessary piping with him. Hope he isn't charging you double for another visit.
Debs, you just keep smiling and thinking pleasant thoughts.
@Red maple, hope you have had a nice afternoon tea.
@Busy-Lizzie. You have had such a nice homecoming - meeting all the family and friends so it must have been a bit of an anti climax getting into the house to be greeted by a smell of diesel. I do hope it isn't anything too serious with the boiler.
@Biglad I feel you pain. Every time I hear the mere mention of VM I feel my canines elongating. They have this 'trick' now of saying (recorded message) words to the effect of teliing me they will send a link to my phone where a helpful website will be able to answer my questions. D'uh very useful (NOT!) when you are ringing them because you haven't got any internet!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
It's light here so early compared with France, not just because of the hour difference in time but also because of being more north in June. I put a blackout lining on the curtains when I made them but the light comes in all around the edges. I will have to start going to bed earlier.
Boiler man is coming at 9am. I hope he can find the cause of the fuel smell.
Yesterday I cut quite a lot off the choisya. Today I must unravel a clematis and put it back on the fence. More watering to do. NDN says it hasn't rained for weeks.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Going to be scorchio here again. Half day of work, hopefully.
