LB, 26โ is not too bad.๐ I would love to have that temperature during whole summer.
Grey and windy morning. I watered my front garden, and now is time for school. My cup of tea is finished, all pets are fed and sleeping again, so I can go.
For all off us who love this tea. Hope my is made of tea leaves. ๐
Morning all. Well, LB, I'm up and ready for him whatever time he gets here. A bit bleary eyed yet but looks to be another scorcher here too. Our bedroom was like a furness too. I was awake from about 4.45am so could have joined Rosie in an early morning cuppa. Biglad, hope your internet came back on for you last night. Surprising how much we depend on it these days.
Very good cartoon @Ante1 and I love your Peanuts cartoons too @Ladybird4 my mom loved them so they always make me smile.ย
Sunny day here today I have a massage booked then out for lunch with fiancรฉ.ย
Work is really awful at the moment we are so understaffed and this heat doesnโt help so why do I smile when I wake up to blue skies and sunshine โ๏ธย Trying to keep busy with nice things when I am not at work and when it gets really awful with customers shouting at me I take a moment and think of my garden.ย
Still no VM internet or TV. Makes me laugh that the message on the TV tells you there is a problem (no ****, Sherlock!) and to visit the website if the problem persists. Are they aware of the difficulty of using the internet to log on to a site to tell you that you can't currently use the internet?
If I wasn't working, I'd grumble and disappear into the garden. As I work from home, when I am working, any length of time without internet will ultimately lead to people getting their pay late. It becomes more of an issue!ย
Apparently, if I register the loss of internet (internet required to do this), after 2 full working days, I'll get ยฃ8.40 compensation. By my reckoning, that means I'll never get any compensation but I can be without a connection for 99.9% of the time. In theory, if it works for 1 second a day, they will wriggle out of that pathetic reimbursement.
Can you feel my anger building @Ladybird4? I'll be an ex-VM customer before too long!
It was great to see my old friend, S, in Kent again. We had a lovely lunch on the terrace and she showed me around her pretty garden. I showed her photos on my laptop. My OH and her OH got on well too.
We are back in OH's cottage in Norfolk but there is a dreadful dieselly smell in the kitchen. It is coming from the boiler. The hot water and heating are turned off though.ย There is also an immersion heater so we can use that instead. OH has rung the boiler man, he's coming tomorrow.
The garden looks OK, lawns and edges are very neat and Kev has tied some plants up. Quite a bit in flower but it is all pretty dry. I wanted to put the sprinkler on last night but the filter was bunged up. I've sorted it now.
We have to go to the SM. I bought some milk and bread in a service station on the way home last night.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning everyone . I hope everyone has a lovely day .Great cartoon Ante . LB always love Snoopy cartoons .Debs I hope work is better for you today .Hazel I hope the plumber comes early .Donโt work too hard folks. I have a bit of DIY to do before it gets too hot.
Plumber still hasn't arrived. Isn't it typical when you get all ready for them? Biglad, I can understand your grief when your work relies on use of the internet. It's not on. Have you telephoned them? Deep breath , hope it gets sorted PDQ for you. Debs, it can't be nice having customers shout of you. Have you any signs in the chemist stating no abuse will be tolerated. They're up in a lot of shops here.
....as I was writing the post, the plumber arrived. He's coming back next Monday ย to replace some old piping in bathroom but he says the kitchen sink ones are fine. He checked the "trap smells "bends and they were fine and said we shouldn't be getting back smells as they were working fine. Maybe it's the washer? We can check that but for now, will keep on doing what we've always done and put up with it. He has recommended some strong drain cleaner which well get and that should sort it out. Not your run of the mill cleaner from SM, we have to go to ย a specialist shop.

another warm day with blue skies. Up early as it was too warm to sleep, so decided to make a cuppa.
Your cartoon made me smile, too, @Ante1.
Going out for afternoon tea today, but otherwise a pottering day. There are jobs I *could* do, but my excuse is itโs too hot ๐.ย
๐คthe plumber arrives on time hazel.
