Glad the hospital are pleased @Dovefromabove. I hope the grafts heal well.
OH took me out for a light lunch in a local pub. We had a sharing platter. There was a list of dishes and we could choose 4. It was delicious, hot prawns in garlic and chilli butter, smoked salmon with pickled crisp pink beetroot, whitebait with garlic mayo and lemon, and sweet peppers, olives and cubes of cheese. Then I had chocolate Marquise with caramel ice and cherries. Yum.
This afternoon I raked the front lawn that the blackbirds have been pecking up. It was full of moss. Now it's full of bare patches and looks awful. We'd reseeded lots of it after the drought last autumn. No sign of young grass, yet it had germinated. Will have to be re-seeded again in the spring. But how to stop the blackbirds?
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
So glad to hear the latest news @Dovefromabove, still a great worry of course but must give you and Wonky some relief. Been thinking of him all day and will continue to send healing thoughts over the next two days while the grafts are being done. Hopefully you will be able to visit on Friday. Try to get some rest and look after yourselves.
Glad to hear that you have had some help @Pat E and that you are feeling a bit better - dont go galloping round the garden just yet though!
Thinking about Hosta too and hoping that @punkdoc is feeling a bit better.
I have been quite busy today but kept sending you positive vibes @Dovefromabove and @Wonky. It is good that the hospital has given you some reassurance. Also good that you have slept a little last night and that you can see him Friday. With all that goes on in the UK the NHS is still fantastic: they will take care of him and they will manage his pain with the upmost care, I am pretty sure about it.
Stay strong.
Tomorrow we are going to Amsterdam to visit sons and DiL, I have been baking all day for vegan requirements and non. Case is full of biscuits and cat treats. Will post a photo of their fab cat one day, he truly is stunning.
Hi everyone, So pleased to hear better news Dove &Wonky. It's been a funny day here weather-wise thick fog till lunchtime but the sun eventually broke through. We did quite a bit in the garden yesterday and a bit more today once it had finally warmed up.
Morning everyone. I slept well with the aid of Panadol Osteo. 🤭. Anyway, managed to dress myself and make my own breakfast. All good.
Hubby has acquired a gadget that shows the temperature on the veranda and living room. When I wandered out this morning and saw that the temp on the veranda was registering 44.1c. 😳. I went out and opened the windows and now an hour later, it’s 30.4c. Pixel has decided to spend her morning on my art chair in my room which is on the south west side (away from morning sun). She’s not silly.
Hope Punkdoc is ok. I’m glad you son is progressing Dove.
Anyway, once again, I’m just going with the flow here.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ a bit foggy here. Glad you’re a bit more mobile @Pat E … a good physio is marvellous!
Thanks for all your kind support everyone … it means a lot. Just wanted you to know Punkdoc has been in touch and been very supportive with info etc re ICU and all that stuff. He’s just staying off social media etc and taking care of himself.

A bit more weeding this morning and some pruning. Father-in-law (88) is coming to prune my grapevines. I have about 6. The cuttings of which I use in the summer to bbq the round of sausage. He's a bit unsteady on his feet - much more so than last year, so I think I will be doing most of the pruning. His knowledge is precious.
Sun trying to break through a cloudy sky and the temperature is clement - 7°C and hooray - NO wind! Makes all the difference.
Today is the saint's day of my late husband: A la Saint Claude, regarde ton seau, tu ne le verras pas plus haut.
Hoping all goes well for OH tomorrow, Busy-Lizzie. Thought his date must be coming up soon. Very pleased that your physio helped so much, very impressive, Pat E. Damp and grey here, and my cold is getting worse instead of better. Having a quiet day at home, getting a few jobs done, but very slowly. Putting away the passports etc from our trip, and getting the laundry back up to date, with a little sit down between tasks.
Hope everyone is well. You might have noticed my absence recently, whilst I have been wrestling with various health issues. Some of you know that I have not been well for a few years, the legacy of some of my work in rather unsavoury places. Unfortunately, things have got a bit worse recently, and I have had to make some decisions. Anyway, I think Moira and I have worked through those, so I hope to soon be back on here with my usual annoying regularity.

A pleasant day to all of you.
Quiet today. Tomorrow will be more eventful as OH will have his pre-op assessment.
I was surprised to see that Nicola Sturgeon has resigned.
