    Good morning to you all.

I hope you @Dovefromabove and @WonkyWomble are holding up under the stress and strain and can get some sleep.

@Pat E   Good news about physio - I bet you've made another appointment.  Take it easy though.  Don't undo his good work!

National State of Emergency in the North Island of New Zealand with a horrendous cyclone hitting before yesterday.  Rained for 72 hours - flooding, king tides and landslips.  My family is safe.  They haven't ventured outside for 72 hours but apart from fallen trees and some chainsawing cleaning up in front of them, they have electricity and internet and are safe.

    Cold but sunny here.

    Have a pleasant day everyone.

Glad you felt some benefit from the physio @Pat E.

Your 5-hour wait at the airport @ergates reminded me of a time when we were returning from a holiday on a Greek island and got stuck at Athens airport for easily that amount of time.  We had no money left and couldn't use the debit card until we had gone through passport control.  We made a little camp with our luggage (we were on the floor - no seats available) and I fished out a little vase we'd bought and filled it with oleander sprigs from outside the building to make our camp prettier.  We survived on water and a sesame bar between us.

One of our book group members brought a delicious cake to our meeting last night - toffee apple!  I knew I shouldn't and I knew I would be reaching for the Rennies later but oh my, it was worth it.

  • We had an airport wait once, in Spain. The snack bar had sandwiches. If they hadn't been labelled we wouldn't have guessed it was ham, the bread was sweet and spread was 'engine oil'. Very expensive as well.

Hello folks, sorry your trip abroad wasn't what you hoped for @Ergates, the 5 hour wait sounds like hell.

It's beautifully sunny here and quite warm so I've dosed myself up and done yet more weeding, I find it quite therapeutic although my shoulder didn't like it. More paracetamol needed. OH came back from the shops with two delicious Danish pastries for a Valentines treat, one chocolate and one apple based so we had half each for elevenses then polished them off for lunch. Yummy, couldn't remember when I last had a Danish.

So glad your physio helped with your shoulders @Pat E.

I wonder if Dove was allowed to visit her son today, I do hope so, if only for a few moments. It's dreadful to feel so helpless.

No visiting today @Lizzie27 … he’s been in theatre for a dressing change and assessment … then there going to formulate a plan … I’m to phone at 5.

I’ve been on the phone to ICU and also his GP practice … and then doing admin stuff for him. Contacting the bank etc to let them know what’s happened, that his cards are missing presumed destroyed … all that sort of thing. Plus I’ve had so many texts etc to answer as the word is spreading and friends are getting in touch. Lots of love heading his way.

Hello Everyone,  I've just finished reading back after my absence and I just wanted to say how sorry I am that your son has been injured @Dovefromabove.  I hope you and Wonky are managing to stay strong and he improves quickly.  You must both be so worried.
Was also sorry to hear that @punkdoc and @Hostafan1 are taking a break from the forum, though I do understand.  Hope they manage to come back.
@Pat E sounds like you are in the wars too.
I just hope everyone feels better soon.

    Evening.

The sun came out after a very misty morning. Lovely to see the sun, but yikes it wasn’t easy joining the motorway earlier, plus it showed how filthy my car is!

Sending love and thoughts to @Dovefromabove and @WonkyWomble. This must be such a worrying ordeal for you. I hope his hospital team are giving him the absolute best of care.

Great to hear that physio helped you @Pat E

    Take care everyone.

@Dovefromabove, that's much better news, thank goodness. You must be so relieved.
Have a stiff drink and hope you sleep tonight.

Thinking about hospitals, has anybody heard from @KT53, I think he had his hip op last Tuesday? Hope he's okay and it's gone according to plan.
