  • I think it was rather in the way of a mea culpa … after all if they hadn’t given him ‘the oxygen of publicity’ and encouraged him to play the affable fool, we might now be in a very different place.

I thought they let him off quite lightly, all things considered.

  • My daughter was very grateful to my mother and now to HM for delaying their deaths until the day after her own birthday. We won't forget the date though!

After the week that I've just had I needed to smile and wee Uff has just accomplished that. I'm catching up with threads on here, being utterly lazy, and I was aware he was trying to catch my attention but ignored him until I eventually looked down and saw 6 of his toys scattered around my feet. He caught my attention on his 6th attempt. He's a determined little b****r.

I had a dog that systematically emptied the contents of my handbag onto the floor to get my attention. I'd forgotten to feed her. I don't know why she didn't just present her bowl to me.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I've tried to teach the mutt that but the lad isn't for learning that one. He's up to speed to tell me when he wants feeding though.

Nothing to do with the plant, and probably more appropriate for Curmudgeon Corner, but why do makers of secateurs think it's a good idea to have handles in colour which blend in with the plants?
