Deep joy chez Uff this morning. Pottering in the greenhouse and noticed this plant pot, you need to look carefully. It's the result of an experiment that I started last spring when I collected a handful of snowdrop seed heads. I let them dry and then put them in the pot and viola they are sprouting. No reason they shouldn't but I've never done it before so this year I'm going to try crossing some and hopefully getting a new strain.

Just for one moment I thought you might have attempted to cross snowdrops with violas @Uff - wow! 😊  Looks promising, keep us posted!

Will do Plantminded and started already on the crossing experiment. Potted up some G Beluga, Nivalis and one that I can't remember the name of but will get the answer later, a double one. All in bud. Separate pots of course and will germinate when they open and then be kept in isolation.
Who knows I might beat the record of £800 for one bulb  :)

£1,390 is the record for a bulb.

Oh my, I'm well behind the times. Thank you for the article Hostafan, I enjoyed reading that. I love the Creme Anglaise at the bottom of the page.

  • We had some sunshine this morning,  managed to rearrange some of the pots of bulbs, bringing some up into the sun , putting some of flower out the front etc.
