I'm recording it now @B3, 'cos Ken's on. I just find it a lovely, nostalgic piece of pleasure, and a welcome relief from all the horrible, unpleasant reality of the current world problems. The bit at the end is always difficult for me though. Jenny Agutter's line when the smoke and steam clear....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Glad you're going to enjoy it. 😏 I always found the children insufferably posh.
I think they're just representative of their "class" at the time it was set... so I can forgive that.
I love the film, partly because my OH worked as a volunteer on the railway on which it was filmed (the Keighley & Worth Valley), including being Mr Perks at Oakworth station.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
There’s a fair bit of online literature (as well as advertising) on the theory of how it works @KT53 🙂
I used to work with an OccupationalTherapist who had studied it in some depth and used the techniques to help some of the very autistic and anxious youngsters we worked with.
Her OT Assistant kept Staffies and found Thunder Shirts really helped keep them calm in stressful or otherwise exciting situations … firework night, moving house, going to the beach etc.
Thanks again Dove. I've been doing a bit of reading on the subject this morning. Including a review of Thundershirts where the reviewer stated they were sceptical, but were unable to fault them in use. I think my niece is considering buying a couple more of the stretchy vests which I believe were only about £10 and seem to do the job.
Not a RTBC for the people involved, but I had to chuckle at an article on the BBC about household accidents during lockdown. Evidently 8 people over the age of 90 were admitted to hospital after falling from playground equipment! I hope they all recovered well, and am hoping I have the energy and nerve to have a go when I’m their age.
@Ergates - I'm not quite at that age yet, but during all the dry weather, when kids were off school, there was a huge increase round here in the use of chalk drawing on pavements. Especially noticeable was the number of Hopscotch layouts.
I'm sure I don't need to go further ....

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
