Thanks @Lizzie27.   Possum had to take it with her phone cos I didn't think to take mine, or a camera.

We have rain forecast with storms for next weekend @JennyJ but I'm saying nothing about it to OH cos every single time I do it fades to less than a dribble.  On the other hand, we did get an unscheduled storm last night and enough rain to leave droplets on the hostas leaves.

Mine today was watching a blackbird removing a snail from the shell and tucking in.

We have blackbirds in the garden, but I've never seen them eating snails. I have found empty shells though, so I guess someone's having a feast on them.

I've seen thrushes grab the insides and bash them repeatedly until they break but the blackbirds was sort of bashing it from side to side

    Well done that blackbird!
The shells I find lying around are mostly whole, not broken. Maybe they're surviving to to die of old age :| .

We had some rain :). Not a huge amount, about 5mm in the gauge, but better than nowt.
And a bit of rubber plant that I accidentally broke off during the pre-Christmas frantic cleaning session and stuck in a jar of water has produced a root over the last couple of weeks, since last time I checked it.

Life's simple pleasures. Should be fully ripe this weekend.
