If I remember rightly @B3, the induction ones cool down very very rapidly. The ceramic ones don't, but that's handy if you want to keep something ticking over. Pros and cons. I can understand that @KT53. I had lots of le Creuset ones, and they worked on it. I gave away a load of mine to a friend and bought some new ones.
Happy Birthday @BenCotto - 21 again eh? I'll not do the overused joke about having the fire brigade standing by... oops....;)
Have a cake, and a festive biscuit or two
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Thanks everyone, you’re so kind. And it will be a great birthday too because on Monday and again on Wednesday my wife had hospital consultations for two separate cancers and both proved negative. A massive stress of the past few weeks has been lifted. Tomorrow I am having a grand celebratory lunch with friends in a hotel in Uppingham and then there is some kind of event in the village but I am being told nothing about it. Good times.

In other news the sun is shining, and it's only minus 7 now. Positively tropical compared to this time yesterday
Love to both of you x
