Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Brrr! @Pat E Im not surprised those gloves are popular.
Hope you got back to sleep @hostafan 1 🤗 when I woke around 6 I went down and knocked back the dough that’s been proving overnight, so now it’s on it’s second rise and will be going in the oven very soon. Then I came back to bed with our cuppas and we’ve been sitting watching a gang of five magpies having a huge row about something.
It’s been like an aerial dogfight in WW2 ... swooping and wheeling round, tumbling and soaring up again, all the while with their noisy shouting like machine gun fire ... it went on for about 20 minutes before one pair went off in one direction and the other three sat in the birch tree and let them go ... it was so noisy if we hadn’t already been awake they’d have woken us ... wonder what that was all about? It seemed odd that there were five adults at this time of year ... I’m used to seeing family groups later in the year but this seemed like a three and a two ... do unattached singletons hang around with their parents the following year?

Just had a garden wander and everything is looking beautiful- the plants seem to have liked the wet May more than we did 🤣
Had a lovely day yesterday. We all descended on my Dads for a “working party”. I cleaned out his greenhouse, as he is optimistic enough to be growing tomatoes this year 👍🏻. Cleared out 15 years worth of crud and removed 12 year old bubble wrap that had either degraded to dust or welded itself to the glass. Looked so much better when I had finished. Meanwhile BiL 1 installed his new broadband set up, BiL 2 went up the ladder and painted his woodwork and soffits, sister 1 and nieces painted the deck and his garden furniture and mr C and sister 2 had an assault (I use that word advisedly) on his junk filled garage to make space for the mobility scooter he is considering now that his car has finally gone. Then finished up with a bbq in the garden ......lovely times 😀😀😀
That sounds very satisfying Chicky and how lovely to meet up with family and get stuck in. I bet that did your OH a world of good Yviestevie, there's nothing like shared laughter to aid recovery. So sorry you had another horrid night Hosta. I had to pull all the crud from behind the shed yesterday so OH could get at the beansticks so today I need to cut back the hedge/clematis armandii/wild honeysuckle that's threatening to engulf it and tidy it all up. We were woken up by magpies as well Dove, they are so flipping noisy aren't they. They had a big nest which I have been watching from the sitting room window and I think the chicks have now fledged. It's probably good for your hands/fingers to keep on knitting @Pat E so try not to get stressed by it all. I see Boris has just married Carrie in Westminster Cathedral, hope over experience, do you think..... I'm amazed they managed to keep it such a secret. Good luck to them.
Just about to join a working party of my own @chicky - the plants are arriving to plant up all of the tubs & planters in town. My patch is the church railings and around the war memorial. Our theme this year is 'in the pink', so lots of pink pelargoniums and some pink and purple verbena.

I'm afraid yet another terrible night.
Totally exhausted with it all.
