So do I @Busy-Lizzie but I have always had cold sensitive teeth and, it seems, they're brittle too. 2 more cracked teeth on t'other side to sort out when this first lot's done.
Glad the tiles have surfaced at last. I hope you can get them laid before you leave for Norfolk.

Hi folks. Just a quick update.
Hubby's speech is showing signs of improvement. He can now say the odd
word. He has his phone now and keeps phoning me but I'm finding it
quite upsetting as I can't understand what he is saying and he is
obviously trying to tell me something. I run through everything I can
think of and tell him all the news I have and how well he is doing but I
can feel his frustration down the line. I'm hopefully going to talk to
his Doctor over the phone tomorrow morning but there is still no
visiting.
Managed to get some gardening done today. Mowed and
edged the lawns and did a bit of weeding. I'm hoping it will tire me
out so I can get some sleep.
That must be so frustrating for you both @Yviestevie. Can you not get him to text you? At least then you will not misinterpret.
Haven't done any gardening cos of a bit of throbbing but I did go down to see the chooks and give the their daily corn then let them out to fossick about the main garden. They come almost up to the house now and potter about in the long grass and weeds between the veg plot and the house. They get a bit squawky if Bonzo goes sniffing after them tho. Will just have to get used to that.

He hasn't texted so far @Obelixx . I'm not sure if he can. If his brain can't translate what he thinks into speech, can it translate what he thinks into hand writing/text? I have no idea.
Hope you both manage to get some sleep tonight Yviestevie and Obelixx.
I had a quick walk round the garden at 8pm after dinner, just to get some fresh air whilst it had stopped raining. Went outside the top gate to inspect the grassy verge outside which now has some wild flowers on it and was pleased to see that the Council strimmer today has just tidied the edges and left the long grass. He'd very kindly strimmed a pathway to our big gate as well. I need to trim the grass though back from the three bushes I planted last year and re-tie my red Etoile de Hollande rose where it's grown a lot. I've got loads of wild flower plugs to plant out there as soon as the weather allows. I'm not entirely sure why I'm cultivating a bit of waste ground when I've got a large garden of my own to look after - I must be mad.
That's good news @Yviestevie - it looks promising for him to get his speech back sooner rather than later. And needing to communicate with you is a good incentive. But it's still early days. Hugs.
Thanks @punkdoc I'm doing my best but it's so upsetting to hear him struggling and not being able to see him is just awful. I keep thinking about how I couldn't see mum.
I do so feel for you @Yviestevie and can see how the current situation would remind you of the awful situation with your mother. Let's hope you're able to see him soon.
Weather getting better supposedly, we so need it to buck up.
I've been out and filled up the bird feeders again, they seem to like my new seed very much.
Bizarrely I'm having to water the hanging baskets everyday as they just don't catch the rain because of the eaves. Anyway, least of my worries.
Hope you get your floor tiled today @Busy-Lizzie. And I hope you got a decent night's sleep @Hostafan1.
Catch you all later. Have a good day.

What's " a decent night's sleep"?
Yet more rain overnight. So bored with it.
