A really sunny day and therefore really busy, so good to welcome people back. New staff have been great, one young girl I was a bit worried about has turned out to be really good too. One older lady, might need a talking to (again) seems to take against new staff... feels threatened, I don't know why, hopefully a friendly chat and a gee up will help. She is so good, she has no reason to feel threatened but can be a bit inkind sometimes.
Weather turning again tomorrow, what a year this has been so far weather wise, but the long awaited covered pergolas are due to be delivered a week on Friday, fingers (and everything else) crossed. As @Busy-Lizzie knows too well, you just can't trust given delivery dates here.
I managed an evening patrol of the garden, all looking ok, weeds not too bad and a couple of nice new blooms out.
What a difference a day makes with the weather, the wind dropped and temp went up to 24 deg! Prepared veggie beds and sorted the supports for the tomatoes. So glad everything is going well @D0rdogne_Damsel it all looks fabulous.
Overcast and gloomy all day. Rain at times. Stayed indoors on admin stuff. Forecast to be more of the same + high winds for the next week. Fed up with it now. So envious of those of you from warmer climes who have roses and clematis out. Everything seems to be just stuck in a kind of stasis in my garden. Sorry - should be in curmudgeons corner.
3.30am and I’m awake listening to the wind howling outside. Don’t know if it’s raining as well, but I can hear the flap on the bathroom extractor fan being blown by the wind. I shall do some logic puzzles to distract my brain, hopefully will get back to sleep.
Pretty blowy here too @Ergates ... have shut the bedroom window and will put on a podcast to drown out the noise of the wind ... and the waking blackbirds 🙄 😉

Lizzie surely you are 27!! Well morning folks, been up a while, dishwasher and washing done, really windy getting it out quick extra pegged methinks. Busy old day ahead. We had a big nicotiana silvestris probably incorrectly spelt, are they perennial? It was over a mtr tall, with flower buds, snapped in last nights wind. There is always one DD,or more. My eldest is a manager of a big branch of one of the big supermarkets,I complain to her about the way a cashier spoke to me,(older bloke) she said he's always like that, has been spoken to countless times. My youngest son, who's late 30s used to shop in there, this was recently he took his passport for ID because sometimes they won't believe he's over 25, bought a beer, she looked at his picture, said,"you've put on weight",how damn rude!
