Good to see you @Yviestevie .....vent on here as much as you want to 👍🏻

Rain (or more precisely lighting) stopped play here.  Decided a GH was not the most sensible place to be ⚡️⚡️⚡️

@Yviestevie, moan away if you need to glad you're ok otherwise.
Not long back from Allotment,  managed to plant a bed of lettuce before the latest thunderstorm.  Planted some Tomatoes in the greenhouse while I waited for it to ease, so I didn't get too wet getting to the car.  It's just brewing up for another downpour now.

Just been into work to try to change my hours to accommodate Caring duties.

I have to submit a " flexible working request "

Heaven forbid we should be able to actually TALK to someone.

Oh dear, that's going to be difficult @Hostafan1, given your occupation. Have you considered renting out your annexe at a lower rent perhaps in exchange for caring duties on the days you work? Just an idea.

They didn't actually say the answer would be NO, but it's yet another box ticking exercise.

Actually @Hostafan1  ... I’ve been involved just a little bit with such things through work in the past .... what may seem to be a box ticking exercise has probably been designed to ensure that your employers are fulfilling their legal duty to give carers the flexibility they need ... it will also protect your rights and their duties re PAYE etc as an employer, which may be very important further down the line when it comes to other entitlements. 😊

Make sure you keep your own copy of all forms you complete.

I understand that, but when they asked me to do my double Sunday shift they told me it'd be ok to drop my Thursday shift.
    Now things have changed.

That’s exactly why everything should go through the proper procedure ... and there should be a paper trail to prove it. 👍 🤗

    Gutted.

Went to pinch out my only 'big' dahlia (around 8 inches of growth, as various youtube videos told me was appropriate) after work today. Pinched out the first bit, fine, looked at it again and thought hmm, could go a little further down. As I pinched I also pulled and obviously further down the stem was a little thicker and it just pulled the whole greenery off the tuber :open_mouth::cry:

So I hastily stuck it back in the ground. Maybe it'll root?... :(
