    Hello all. I'm back from my 2nd vaccination. Stopped off at Le Grand frais for fresh fruit and veg. Leclerc isn't very good at freshness and Son 1 is coming for the weekend.

    I hope Dove and Wonky enjoy their day together.

    Glued in front of Tele watching the Giro. Ā Yes, I know some of you don’t follow the cycling, but we love it. 😁

    It depends on the day you go I think @Busy-Lizzie but ours is closed for Ascension anyway so I did my weekly SM run yesterday suspecting there wouldn't be fresh deliveries for tomorrow morning.Ā  They have had good looking rhubarb this year - a first since we moved here - and welcome because ours has been transplanted this year and are too small to harvest.Ā  Ā Lots of other good looking fruit and veg too but ropey parsnips and, as usual, no spring onions.

    Food shops and some garden centres are open here, but just for the morning.

    Just had an annoying baking failure. Made some muffins using the same recipe as always, measured everything out just like every other time, same oven and silicon trays but tops came off when I tried to extract them leaving essentially muffin crumb behind. Apparently it makes a good fruit crumble topping so it won't go to waste.

    Hello all, it's been constant rain all morning but hopefully has now stopped for a while. Our garden looks rather soggy as well DD.
    The carpet estimator has been and is going to let us have a quote. I'm dreading the upheaval but we're not likely to be doing it again! They'll help with the furniture shifting. Our Sainsbury's delivery has also just been so we've a choice for dinner tonight.
    Ā Hope Dove enjoys her day with her daughter.
    The rats are back so I'm going to have to stop feeding the birds for a while and I'm going to try the new sonic cat deterrent near the rat run to see if that deters them. Not
    Ā sure if the sound burst will work for rats though so we might have to get a proper one.
    Either that or the exterminator will have to be called.Ā
    I'd better get on with the ironing this afternoon, another job I keep putting off.

    @Lizzie27,
    I don't know if you have a "Mole Valley Farmers" shop nearby, but they sell sachets of rat poison for about 70p.
    We had one feasting on it last week and after 2 days he " stopped coming back " for more.

    Hello again everyone ... I’ve had a lovely day ... I had an hour with my son when I got there as @WonkyWomble Ā and her Lovely Hub were doing a raid on the local nursery. Then son went to work and Wonky and LH arrived back and we swapped plants and had Scones and jam ... her gardens looking lovely and she has even more birds than we have despite (or perhaps because) being in the town Centre ... her garden’s a real oasis.Ā
    I’ll post some pics later on...Ā
