The last 2 days have been shocking. Didn't even take the dogs for a walk yesterday - one of them flatly refused to go out in it, even with her coat on.
@Obelixx Tilers use tile levelling systems - basically spacers like the ones that you use between the tiles but which go under them so you can fiddle about with the height. OH used a DIY version to tile our garage floor - took half the time it has for other floors - much easier he said.
It's not actually raining at the moment but I think it will any minute, going by the purple sky But I'm working anyway so hey ho. At least all the trees have come into leaf, except some of the struggling ash trees, so it looks more like spring, even if it doesn't feel like it.

Forecast to be chilly, overcast but dry all day, before it gets wet again at the weekend. Not sure about getting the paint brush out on the basis of that forecast, but have other garden projects to be getting on with.
Morning all you early birds, wonderful sunset PatE, your place looks great DD the hard work will be worth it. Grey and dull here I need a dry day, I still have parts of the Allotment to dig, don't think I have ever been so far behind, not sure how it's happened. At least with the season being so late, I can't plant much anyway.
Morning all. How exciting to have the artists coming today to hang their work @D0rdogne_Damsel. Lovely sunset @Pat E. All overcast and uninviting out there today. Think I'll prick out the last of my last batch of seedlings and get on with some paperwork.
Cool again here but no rain. Slept like a log last night and late which I find makes me feel as groggy as a broken night. Oh well. OH has been to the bank to get the cash to pay the chaps who are coming to demolish what's left of the barn roof and take away the crud except they've phoned to say it's too windy so they'll come at the end of next week. Fine.
He's also been out and bought some mortar for me to do a levelling up job before I try and lay any more tiles and then I'll be out planting shrubs in a new bed. Desperate to get them out of pots and in the ground. When I went to see the chooks they were all in one compost bin helping him chop up the last of the PSB skeletons and with a lot to say. One was so keen to have her daily sweetcorn she flew out and followed me back in. Daft.
Hope you have a good time with Son 1 @Busy-Lizzie. Is he on his own or with his brood? Good luck with the final arrangements @D0rdogne_Damsel. At least you're not short of firewood if you need it for the cold spell @Pat E. We have a dog like that @raisingirl.
Looks wet and windy for the weekend in the UK and much of Europe. Stay safe and dry everyone.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

@Obelixx, I've never used it, but I believe there is a product that is self levelling motar for floors. Presumably you use it quite wet so it flows, and settles to a level.
I'm hoping this stuff is @Allotment boy but I'm also getting out an old "raclette" to help smooth it. We'll see. I have to empty a load of plants from the scruffier wheelbarrow before I can start mixing.

@Obelixx, son is with his lovely French wife and 3 adorable daughters. We went visiting this afternoon, a local "plus beaux villages de France". It didn't rain.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Son 1 rang, he will arrive around midday. He's still at Son 2's.
