Good morning @Desi_in_London 😊 ... am I right that it’s Eid this evening?  Are you able to have some sort of celebration and get together even if it’s outside?  I suppose a lot will depend on the weather ...

  • Eid definitely this evening ( today is the 30th fast and the lunar month can't be longer than 30 days) -- think the middle east pretty much announced at the weekend that tomorrow will be Eid and the UK usually follows it( you're totally right re it starting tonight but I always think of it in context of days ) -- No plans to meet people( will make the asma khan pistachio firni recipe -  reminds me of my childhood) -- dad having an op on Friday so is in isolation pre-op ( re covid procedures) , so Eid celebration will basically involve helping mum with him at the weekend. Hopefully he did the self-swabbing accurately enough to get his turn in the hospital.

Ah I knew there was something about being able to see the moon but someone said it’s done with technology now so it doesn’t matter if it’s cloudy or not. 😊
I like the sound of a pistachio firni... that’s a bit like rice pudding, right?
Hope your dad’s op goes ok. It’s good that you can help your mum 😊

  • Yes - re firni ( yes rice pudding but different spices and I think it might be a bit richer and sweeter )- the recipe was in the Waitrose weekly either last week or the week prior  -- OH doesn't like it but I figure I'll take any left overs to the parents on Friday. Re help - me too , even if it's likely to be just in-person moral support from a safe distance apart.

I’m sure your mum appreciates your support. It’s difficult enough when loved ones are unwell, without all the Covid restrictions. 🤗 🤞

Good morning @Hostafan1 😊. How’s the weather down your way?  It’s been gloriously sunny this morning, but now there’s a bank of dark cloud rolling in from the west 😟

we've got " sunshine and showers" but it's still V cold. I'm hating it, but growth in the garden and tunnels is fairly controlled so I'm getting on with chores before everything bursts in major growth spurts.
