There's a huge heron perched on the ridge of the house roof across the road ...
botheration ... by the time I'd slipped my phone between the slats of the blind and zoomed in on it, he decided it didn't want to be photographed for GW  :s

What a lovely English garden! @Allotment Boy

A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

    Hello all.
    Beautiful garden @Allotment Boy

It's a glorious day here, 27° forecast for this afternoon. I've been mowing the grass. On Sunday's and bank holidays in France you are only allowed to mow between 10am and 12 and it's a bank holiday today. Think I'll put a summer dress on after lunch. Don't know when there will be another day like this, the next 2 weeks forecast is for rain. Shame as son 1 and his lovely French wife is coming to stay next weekend with his 3 little daughters.

    Afternoon all,

The 'pond' is full. I'm afraid the deluge can be directly correlated to my purchase of a BBQ this week ;)

Some rain was needed but this morning's downpour might be overdoing it.

At least we know who to blame @Biglad ... any chance of you sending it back?  :/

I've hidden it in the shed, d-fab. If that doesn't work, I've kept the receipt!

Hello folks, had a better night's sleep which I'm grateful for. Joints still twinge so taking it easy today, not that there's much chance of any gardening, it's wild, wet and windy out there today. If it eases up, might just dash up the garden path to collect a bag of MPC to sow veggies in loo rolls in the dining room again.

I was very pleased to find I've dropped a dress size when the exchange coral linen dress turned up yesterday and even more pleased that it has pockets on it, not something you find on many womens clothes. It was a very quick turn around compared to my first order which was delayed in the Hermes depot for a week. Think I need new sandals as well.

We were amused yesterday to see that some of the little herd of pigs now in the woodland we pass every day were curled up on each other on top of the remains of a big bonfire. Presumably there must have been some residual warmth left in the ashes - we don't think they were cooking!

Rain has definitely stopped play for today.  Not too worried as I had a sleepless night last night and feel a bit shabby today. Day 2 post 2nd jab might  be a contributing factor, not sure.  But have discovered the Optimistic Gardener on YouTube - and whiled away some time watching his videos.  Wish I had his energy! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7f6EoHbN_v-a0xUsXL2KWg
