The weather has calmed down now but we're forecast more wind and rain later. Not a great day for running around a field
Quick check outdoors has revealed minimal casualties so far - a few daffodils and rhubarb stalks have snapped/been eaten by a critters (don't think the wind/rain can be held responsible for the flowers looking like leftovers!).
Lovely koala @Pat E! (BTW: I'm Didy, rhymes with tidy). Still very windy here. We heard a crash last night and I was so worried about my photinia which was being whipped up like nobody's business. I thought - it that snaps that'll teach me for swanking about it on here. Fortunately it's tougher than that and is still intact. But the post I have up with a board for the local elections (Green) has tipped over, so that was the bang. Haven't ventured out yet to check how much water is in the butt. I'm hoping lots - it needs to be fairly full as being an old beer barrel if it dries out water pours out of it until it is caulked again.
Sorry Didy. It was the spellchecker made the change and I didn’t notice. 😡 im glad you all liked the photos that our son took. Realise that people don’t see Koalas in the wild often.
Hello folks. @Pat E, lovely photos, we had the great fortune of seeing a koala in the wild, it was just hopping along the road in front of us looking just like a teddy bear, couldn't believe our eyes. It then jumped into the hedge and we could only make out its eyes. We'd gone to see a historic lighthouse. Otway? It just made our day.
No damage here as far as I can tell and even the tulips have survived. Several small trees/big branches down along our usual route to the shops this morning.
Snap, @Punkdoc, I've just got back from the dentist too - £116 just for a clean and check-up! I don't really begrudge it though as its so important to look after your teeth when you get older Glad you enjoyed your quiet weekend @WonkyWomble, I bet it was bliss just the two of you. Hope Minstrel's okay Obelixx.
It has stayed wet here, mostly drizzle but a couple of blustery downpours too so it should be soaking in. Vet could find no obvious wounds nor signs of poisoning but Minstrel has lost weight and has a slight temperature so a hidden abscess or some such is suspected. 2 jabs for antibiotics and anti-inflammatories and then oral meds to follow for a week. Need to keep her warm and see how she responds over the next 2 days. She's down to 3.5kilos which is very skinny even for her. Podgy Cosmos is 6kilos!
It is so cold and wet and mis here we're thinking of lighting a fire but first I need to go and see those chooks who won't be too impressed by the weather either. Not complaining. Just saying.

Evening. A better day today, although still a tad chilly. My sister has reported plant casualties as she had a few things in the mini plastic greenhouse - they are a nightmare in the wind.
Those koalas @Pat E! I remember I had a koala teddy when I was little, I still remember the big nose.
I hope Minstrel is ok @obelixx. My George is about 6Kg too - big lump, especially at 6 in the morning 🐾
Have a pleasant evening all. Doing chicken Kiev here - a retro classic.

Cloudy here.
Great photos @Pat E
I'm going out for a wander round that big plant nursery, better not take a trolley.
The actor who played Steve Arnot was born in my home town of Greenock.
Wild and wet here and cold +++.
Just returned from dentist with a new filling.
Tomorrow is second vaccine, which I am pleased about.
