Morning folks, was awake when hubby got up a couple of hours ago,it looked pretty dark, went back to sleep woke up again,( was dreaming about annoying neighbours) hubby said "a nightmare then" raining. Went out yesterday, with friend, her birthday this week,we haven't been out for coffee or wine, only walks for over s year. We sometimes go to a sea front hotel, that's where she wanted to go,fair enough. A double room for the night there is around £122 per night, which I didn't think was bad,we had coffee, cake, she had s crumpet, wine for me,gin for her,I was shocked at the bill £30. Hubby and I find go out often, when we did it was a carvery a couple of villages along,we had what they called the "lighter bite" smaller plate, then they said they changed the name to children's because people complained it was too small. You could pile your plate,it was under a fiver,we had a good meal, drink and shared a dessert for less than £20. Last time we went there was Valentine's Day 2020,they don't double the prices for things like that because of the date. Normal restaurant I have a starter because the portions are way too large for me
Morning all. I hope your days are going ok. Just waiting for Dad to have his plaster on his foot. It’s that time of year when I obsessively keep looking at the weather forecast and get all disappointed and cross when there is rain due on my day off or weekend. I have just spotted a massive bramble poking up from the Yew hedge, so I will need to chase that and cull it as now I’ve seen it, it will bug me.
Coffee here too, always filtered, or, occasionally, a tisane of mint and liquorice.
Bad night with stupid knee so have been dozing in bed and reading but now have a frittata in the oven for lunch and then some Cave sorting to do, laying tiles on the concrete shelf we've made so the shelving can sit level.
It is cool and breezy and damp and it's Ascension Day, middle of May and we're expecting a giddy high of 14C. Feels like March, not May, except for all the greenery and bird song.
Stay safe and warm everyone, whatever you're doing, and enjoy your day.

"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Fairly warm here. Desperately trying to get some stuff out of the g/h and into the ground, so I can empty some of the window sills into the g/h. It really has been a trying Spring.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

Keep dry/warm/safe/going folks.
