    Morning all.

I think everyone should be retested every 10 years , and every 3 years after "state retirement age"

If they're good enough, they'll pass, if not, they fail. 17 or 70 , sit the whole driving test, not just an assessment.

Hideous rain and wind now for 24 hours, and more to come today.

    Devon.

    Hello again folks image

Washed dressed mascara'd and on the sofa ........ foot feeling quite a bit better .... still achey but the PAIN image has more or less gone most of the time and I've stopped needing painkillers at night. My knee and ankle are also a lot improved, although it's all a delightful shade of yellow still.   Onwards and upwards.  image

Frittata with lots of salad is an occasional supper dish here ......... with leftovers (if there are any) for lunch the next day image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Morning all.

My niece, with all the wisdom of youth, decreed that everyone over 70 should have their driving licence taken away. What's wrong with the bus after all? It was only when I pointed out that she, along with the rest of us, would be taking turns ferrying granny and granda to all their varous SM trips that she relented. After all how would they carry all the b****y groceries...dopey!

I think frequent testing is an excellent idea for all. I also think there should be a limit on how many times you can apply for a licence. If you keep going long enough eventually you will have a good day or your examiner will have a bad one and you will pass your test! Case in point...my "17 accidents in the first three years" sis-in-law. Nine of those were her own gate post!!!!!!!!! One was heading the wrong way down a dual carriageway...not quite so funny.

Well, I could have had baked beans on toast, couldn't I? It was just lucky that he made such a big one last night. Went down rather well, especially with the fetta.

Thanks for that lovely message Hosta image. The man who processed my renewal told me I'd been a very good girl - no accidents since I got my licence in 1960. Seriously though, I do agree that people need to be aware of their ability to drive safely. I also have to get a Dr to fill out a form every year before they renew it. image

    Have a good day everyone.

Hubby rang from town to say they were getting snow in Nimitabel (one of our local villages). image. I do NOT doubt it. Freezing rotten day today.

    Pat as I said

Clearly you'd pass with flying colours. image

Here in Ireland, back in the 70's there was such a backlog of people to have driving tests, they powers that be handed out licences to everyone on the list!!  That's how my dad and many people his age, got their licenses.  I passed my driving test, when I was very pregnant, many years ago, and to this day my friends and family tease me that it was only because the tester thought I might give birth!!

Fiends in India told me they have a wonderful system for driving tests.

If you bribe enough, you pass, if you don't, you fail.
