We're not bored with your current experiences Punkdoc. I feel confident that we would all love to see your situation sorted especially after all the selfless work you've put in. I certainly wouldn't be brave enough to do it. Best wishes for new success.
Thanks for your comments on my paintings. I'm really keen to get back into it. I've had to let it slip while we had HRH who was so spoiled that I could never get time on my own in my art room. She always wanted me with her and preferably on the lounge chair with her.
Obelixx , sorry about that - I keep blaming it on ageing, but not much I can do about it. I haven't started putting the butter in the cupboard and the sugar in the fridge yet though.
Pdoc ((hugs)) great news .... new consultant sounds as if he will have real understanding of the pressures you've faced ... onwards and upwards my friend
Pat ... gorgeous work ... great draughtsmanship and use of colour ... (hope that doesn't sound patronising). I did a series of paintings based on botanical forms, starting out from studies similar to yours, but then 'zooming in' to a more or less ladybird's eye view ... paintings were huge ... some 8' x 8' . One of them I know is now in a private collection in Oz
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Punkdoc I'm so glad you chose to update us; I had been wondering what successes you might have had. Good luck with the chap in Chesterfield; I hope it helps.
Please never ever think we're bored or fed up or your updates. We might not know each other as closely as to assume you a friend or chum but I consider you an important acquaintance.
Lawn cut, dog walked washed and filled with treats, washing machine on duty and... will the bank answer the phone? Will they chuff.
What Clari said, punkdoc. Good to hear that things might be looking up.
Congrats to your son, BL. And Pat I love your paintings - really beautiful.
Perfect weather here today: blue sky, sun, cool breeze. Fresh and warm, not sweaty. I'm going to have a couple of hours in the garden before the school run. Would have liked to have the whole day but had to go present buying for OH's birthday and needed to make a special trip in order to carry the huge granite pestle and mortar home... !
Just had a lovely leafy sandwich, all from the garden - lettuce, rocket and coriander. Very pleasing.
Ta ra for now.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Plantmaiden, I attended weekly classes at the Royal Melbourne Botanic Gardens for a couple of years under Diane Emery. I was 59 when I started in 1999, so I was a late starter to Botanical Illustration. I can't paint a landscape to save my life. Botanical actually suits my mind set - I like detailed things, but also have had a lifelong interest in plants and I qualified as a Horticulturist in the early 1990s. I sort of think one thing goes with the other (love of plants and trying to illustrate them).
Dad has now been discharged from the hospital after post op appmt today. Swellings going down and healing well but has discomfort where sliced into the muscles.
PD pleased to hear your news, it will be a relief to you not having to go the hospital.
Pat, lovely pictures.
Hope you all have a lovely evening if possible. I'm ready to fall asleep now. Best go and make some tea.

Dove, I'm really pleased to know that you paint as well. I just knew we had a connection!

Thanks again all. I'm glad you like my paintings.
Pat E: Your paintings are fantastic. Were you trained? I paint, but nothing like you do.
