Friends have just gone ... my tomatoes have been expertly potted into their big pots with canes etc and I now have some cucumbers and a cucamelon as well. I have had a lovely lunch - delicious home made quiche with salad and bits and bobs and delicious ginger beer .... they watered the garden and the kitchen is clean and orderly. We have had cake and coffee and lots of conversation and I have books to read ... it's been so lovely
Djokovic has just lost the first set ... think I might need a nap

Afternoon all. Looks like the weather is on the move again; very damp and lacking in spark. But the garden is growing; not least the grass which is already looking scruffy despite my cutting it on Tuesday!
The TV remote is known as "the stick" in this house. Nobody can remember why...
I've had fun playing with my birthday present from my son. It's a solar charger for phones etc, and should come in handy in Finland when we're off grid. Its first charge has to be via USB from a computer, so that's been done; lots of those irritating but important pre-holiday jobs are now out of the way, and I can get packing in earnest tomorrow. I've been trying to learn a lot of music at the same time, for a concert on Sunday; we're singing three pieces from memory, which would be a doddle if they were in English. Finnish isn't an easy language...
It sounds as if you're making your mark in the new job, Clari. Hope you get the blood sugars sorted out quickly.
Dove, it sounds as if you've had a fab day (within the restrictions of The Boot, of course...)
I'm about to go and count money. Not mine - it's the town's Christian Aid collection!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Obs, I couldn't agree more.
I've said it before , and I'll say it again:
There's not one single politician in this country, of any persuasion, who deserves my trust, my respect , or my vote.

second lot of visitors have been and gone and I'm tucked up in bed exhausted. Not used to so much gossiping.

Hi all.
Still got major computer issues, but thought I would pop in.
Sorry Hosta, but I totally disagree.
