A few weeks ago I had no money in the bank, now have literally 1000s, enough to buy a house in fact! Will they let me get it out to buy said house - not without a fight it seems - aagh!!!!
Sorry, just a bit on edge.
“Coffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?” —Betsy Cañas Garmon
Well today didn't go according to plan. 11.00, in gardening gear, ready to rumble, phone rang, day off cancelled, just finished now. So my cosmos and zinnias remain in pots, with no prospect of being planted any time soon. Off to Nottingham tomorrow to retrieve Chicklet, home for a couple of weeks before she heads south.
What I would have said earlier if site had let me type - A tree had fallen on the fence in the top paddock - yet again! Had to replace a load of white electric ribbon and OH banged in a fence post. Horses now grazing there. I was surprised to see water in the pond after all this heat.
I looked at my emails at lunch time and I'd had one to say a French friend had died on the 21st and his funeral was at 3pm in the Cathedral. When you die in France they like you to be buried in 3 days. So we went. He was only 66. I didn't know his cancer was only diagnosed 4 months ago. I last saw him in April. It was a 2 hour Catholic Mass and lots of people were there.
When we got back everything needed watering and dinner needed cooking and eating. But it's been much cooler today, so more comfortable.
Now to read back.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Obelixx, you asked about my scans. They weren't scans, they were X rays, this is what I posted "Went for X Rays this afternoon. Arthritis in right knee and bottom 3 vertebrae. A pinched something in hip, but need to see Doc for translation, all in French medical speak." I will see the Doc early next week, but it was just a pinched nerve, ouch, and arthritis.
Getting exciting DD. Let us know when you are open and we'll come for tea. If you want some perennials in autumn or spring I could split some for you.

Joyce; just the floors and furnishings to go now!
DD; amazing how banks think they have the right to keep hold of your cash.

Hope you get your funds moving soon DD
Ditto, DD. Hopefully the last bit of frustration before C de G gets off the ground.
Hard luck, Chicky... but it must be nice to be indispensible...
Mmm. Perhaps I'd better sort the paperwork after all, Dove.
DD , exciting times
Not sure about indispensible Liri .....more like line of least resistance
Of course it's exciting but you know it is surely not rocket science to these people.
Anyway, spent the evening writing up menus. Feeling hungry now.
Chicky, I have petunias in pots that really ought to be planted into something bigger.
Also, shocked to find the biggest grubs in the world eating the roots off my pansies and a baby clematis in a pot, awful big black heads.
Spent the afternoon instructing my French baker on making teacakes for toasting, I think he's got it.
Should go to bed, meeting builder at crack of dawn to pay for flagstones and then off to buy pergolas- is that the right word???
Hardly seen Charlie all week, he is apparently jealous of C de G now, but he is with me tomorrow so hopefully I can rectify that.
Haven't read back yet, page keeps sticking.
