NB it's the true cinnamon (Ceylon Cinnamon) that lowers blood sugar levels and a lot of diabetics use it in order to do this.
Raining here today but the garden definitely needs it. I personally prefer spring and autumn. We have just had lunch and making a fuss of the cats. They haven't ventured into the cat run as yet. Finishing wrapping up my dad's birthday presents with a little help from Ed and Alfie.
Normal service has resumed here. Cooler night so woken by Cosmos at 5am for cuddles. He's spent the last few nights sleeping on a windowsill in front of an open window. 21C to about midday at Les Sables d'Olonne and 28C now we're home. We went to the street brocante/flea market for a looksee and found me a comfy pair of sandals at 50% off in a posh shop run by an ex-Parisian just opposite where we parked.
Thence to the flea market where a chap was selling ends of ranges of crystal water glasses from factory closures. OH not impressed but I was so will go back when he's not looking. Found a lovely galvanised watering can for 12€. It will be upcycled in due course. Would have cost a lot more in Belgium where they've caught on.
Not had lunch yet. Oh says he has a dicky tummy and since this is about the 3rd time in his life this has happened he's very much "Woe is me" and flaked on a sofa. No idea what he's got cos I'm fine.
Enjoy your day off Chicky. Well deserved.
Rebecca - I've had cinnamon and honey on my Greek style yoghurt almost once a day thru winter to help boost my immune system. Brilliant.
Busy - when do you expect the results of your scans etc?
Have fun winding up, or down, for the weekend everyone.

I have sorted through a deskful of paperwork that needed sifting/sorting/filing ... I am feeling very Everything that needed filing has been filed ............. and there is a bin bag full of paper to be shredded. The compost heap will be very grateful. Must get it done ready to mix in with the broad bean haulms which will soon be ready for the heap.
Now for a sit down and a large

how I envy you all your more civilised temperature - it's 38degrees here and I'm keeled over with feet in a bowl of cold water and a fan directing warm air at me. So sad to see a couple of shrubs curling up in the heat. On the plus side I've been watching a family of blue tits tumbling through the neflier tree and swallows zooming to and fro over my head so it's not all bad. We have a red alert for the "canicule" or heatwave with administrations to keep shutters closed and to dowse ourselves regularly inside and out with cold water. Cooler next week I think but longing for a thunder storm
It's a lot cooler here today, with intermittent drizzle; the garden could do with proper rain, which is forecast for tonight. Fingers crossed. Gardening yesterday afternoon was a pleasure; bright and breezy, warm but not hot, and soil & weeds just at the right stage for pulling out with no trouble.
We're getting some tasty, beautifully shaped strawberries from our new 'Vibrant' plants, though the plants themselves seem a bit weedy in growth, without very strong root systems - the wind has blown a few plants sideways. I bought a "package" of 3 varieties, early (Vibrant), mid (Marshmello) and late (Malwina) last autumn. The plants of the other 2 varieties look a lot healthier, but the fruit quality remains to be seen; Marshmello is supposed to be a gorgeous flavour, but too easily bruised for commercial production. Sounds ok to me...
I'm just looking at the paperwork on the kitchen table. Any chance you could sort through it for me, Dove, now you're in practice?? Pretty please???
Honey and cinnamon on yoghurt is delicious. Nice to know it's supposed to do me good, too...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

But does mean my work load just had a whole pile of to dos dropped on it.
OH well; it's the weekend!
