No Joyce, cold start but lovely now. I've been painting a little branch from a Correa from the garden. It's so long since I've done any Botanical painting, that I need to start small again.
not sure why it's sideways, but I guess people can turn their heads.
Hope everyone has had a good night's sleep. It was 5degrees when I opened my art/craft room this morning, so I decided to paint while in the lounge room on the sofa. No point in heating two rooms when I can manage with the wood heater.
Busyl, sorry I meant to add my condolences to you earlier, but got side tracked.
It's my day off and as so was busy all weekend my chores list is nice and long. OH has cleaned and scrubbed his car ready to sell so it looks like he's trying to drop hints at using mine all week so it doesn't get dirty... good job I have two vehicles! (The sensible little run around for work and the truck for fun and practical things like shifting many many tons of horse poo / sofas / bits of steam engine around).
Little does he know neither have any fuel in!
Joyce; hope you made use of your YOU time in the morning.
Dove; blue sky here too. Once I've cut the lawn I want to mark out where I want the vegetable beds. Thinking that while he's all giddy about his new car might be the ideal time to convince him to do all the big bits in the garden that I physically can't.

Hosta..............know this might sound a bit daft, but hey, any port in a storm?!
imagine a candle, concentrate on the flame and DONT close your eyes, no matter what .......
sleep should follow
takes a bit of practice, good luck

Pat -
Hadn't heard of Correa - now know it's an Australian evergreen fuchsia and very pretty.
I love the fine detail in a botanical painting so that even doing a small one takes some time.
I have given up on the idea of going back to bed as I'm wide awake but I'll no doubt doze off in the afternoon.

Maybe you'll lay back and relax once the tea and toast works it's magic Joyce.
best of luck with it.
That's me up and on the go Pat. House plants have been watered.
Once I get hubby up it's more than two hours before I get a chance to do anything so I'll take advantage of an early start.
Good morning all
G'day Pat
blue sky again ... Waiting for coffee to appear ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Beautiful painting Pat! I love your eye for detail and the delicate finess of it all!
